Favorite National Park?
Just as the topic titles says: what's your favorite national park, where is it located, and why do you like it? Is it because of the landscape, animals, history, or perhaps all of those combined? It can be a national park that you've visited, or one that you'd really like the chance to go to. And if you have been there, feel free to share memorable experiences or stories.
My own favorite would have to be Badlands National Park, which is located in western South Dakota. It was the first national park I ever went to, and since then I've gone back with my family several times. The rock formations there are really quite amazing and look especially pretty at sunrise or sunset. There's also a variety of wildlife to see- bison, prairie dogs, coyotes, and ferruginous hawks just to name a few. I think it's my favorite because even though I've been there on several occasions, it manages to show me something new every time and never gets old.

Re: Favorite National Park?
Hmm, good question.
Mine by far would be Yellowstone National Park, I love all the Wildlife located in Yellowstone, and not to mention it's breath-taking scenery. It's "History" is also very interesting, learning about the reintroduction and all sorts was a pleasure. Unfortuantly, I have never been to Yellowstone National Park, but it would mean the world if I could go there! =3

Thank you Lark - I've heard a lot about the Badlands National Park, but I know nothing about it, perhaps I'll do a little research. :3

The NPS (National Park Service) websites are always a good place to start.
For the Badlands:

Re: Favorite National Park?
I've visited a lot of national parks in the US, but haven't gotten to do much in other countries. Fundy National Park looks like it would be really fun to camp in. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Favorite National Park?
I haven't been to very many national parks (at least that I can remember.) But I like Jasper National Park in Canada and I also like Glacier National Park which is on the border between Canada and the US. Idk if the Badlands near Drumheller is a national park but...I like those a lot

South Warner Wilderness. There is lots of wildlife and I know wolves are here because my dad saw one in the Madeline Plains (near there) It is close to where I live. My friend saw one in the Madeline Plains too. There are many sightings of wolves in the South Warner Wilderness. It is in Modoc County, CA.

Re: Favorite National Park?
The Grand Canyon is awesome; I've always wanted to hike into it but haven't gotten the chance.
Glacier is another one I've visited. There's a lot of opportunities for wildlife, hiking, and just enjoying the scenery there.
