Forum Statistics (September 2015)

Hey all!

So, I recall in the past when Larkarl used to do these forum statistics and I always found them to be quite interesting. I did notice that ShadesofJay did try to carry it on by posting a topic of forum statistics last year however, I noticed that there was no topic for this year! Therefore, I figured it would be nice to try and keep up the trend of posting forum statistics.

As a side note, statistics such as members joining is based off of my timezone (GMT).

Thanks for compiling this--a very interesting read. It's cool to see how the top posts fluctuate so much and how many more posts are required to be part of that group.

I find it sad that so many people have accounts and have never posted. It makes you realize how small the active community here is.

Woo, I'm happy that you all appreciate the return of the statistics (particularly ban parrot ;D) - when they were done in the past I always enjoyed reading over them, so it only felt right to try and keep up the tradition!

@Lobo Laughing - I have to concur with your statement about the size of the active forum community in relation to the amount of actual registered account on the site. I often like to think that the forum's community is quite big but when compared to the amount that haven't posted, it's quite the opposite! It makes me wonder how many users actually know about the existence of the forums, excluding those who do post around here.

From my (admittedly limited) MP experience, I'd say that about 20% of game players know about the forums. May 2015 was the first time I ever saw a forum-user in MP and many of the people who joined our game had no idea what we were talking about when we were sending character descriptions via forum PM. It's pathetic, especially considering all the great resources available here. Then again, seeing how few of us forum-goers there are, it's really amazing that we have such an active and varied community here. As much as it would be great to see tons of new faces, I kind of like the tight-knit group we currently have.

Nice to see the return of these statistics, thanks for gathering and posting them Silver! It is sad to see how many users there are who have never posted, though I suppose it's unavoidable considering that a forum account is required for multiplayer. Not everyone's going to actually want to use the forum. I'm more surprised to see how few members have posted at least 500 and 1,000 times, though, I thought that number would be a lot higher.

It's always nice seeing these statistics though. Earlier this year I actually thought of posting them myself, but I figured it would've been too early and then I just... forgot... Thanks though, Silver!
