2.7 Demo Discussion

Post by SolitaryHowl » Thu Nov 12, 2015 7:27 pm

Link to the demo: http://eduweb.itch.io/wolfquest

Discuss the demo for 2.7 here, share experiences, post screenshots, etc.

If you are having any trouble with it, you should go over to the Tips, Hints, and Help section of the forums and post there.

So....how are you liking the demo so far?

EDIT:

Some FAQs...
"How do I find the dispersal wolves? They aren't showing up!"
You need a certain amount of EXP to find them, and even then they aren't guaranteed to pop up all the time. Its around a 50/50 chance each time a wolf spawns.
I found a bug! How do I report it?
Email bugs@wolfquest.org. Include any screenshots, a description of the problem, what you tried to do to fix it, and if it happens all the time or only sometimes. Also: make sure to take your output_log.txt (should be in your WolfQuest folder in Windows, in Mac go to the "Console" app, then 'Unity', then 'player.log', then copy/paste the text) and attach it to the email.
Make sure to mention its the DEMO in the subject title.

Hunting in the new version is such a nice challenge! Definitely made hunting more interesting. I'm still not used to avoiding getting kicked by the strong elk lol. But I've had a lot of fun with it, it's a lot more realistic. And it's nice to actually not have to be full health to make a kill, especially since there aren't a lot of carcasses to fuel up on (seriously, not seeing a dead elk every 2 minutes is fantastic.)

Can't wait to get the full game, and gaaah I'm so hyped to see Lost River!

Mine won't download on my laptop so I'm trying my mom's. Is it possible that chrome would cancel the download due to a lack of space on the computer?

I know my mac tried to boot it out because it didn't trust the source.

How do you get your computer to not reject it?

If you go to system preferences then to security and privacy, there should be the option to open and install it (can't remember exactly what it says but it's something like that). Then you just allow it and it should download! At least that's how it is on mine.

Also, my game was very jump and pixely when I first started playing but eventually settled by itself. Playing around with the framerate and quality and such will help too if your game has similar issues. Just a warning so you aren't confused if it happens!

It's flipping out on my mac. Glitchy and stuttery. At one point my wolf was even skimming the earth in a frozen sprint position.

Umm, I think I discovered a bug right off the bat. Are the two adult wolves and the cub closest to the adult wolf on the right's side supposed to look like they're covered in glitter on the title screen?

CPU: Intel Core i7 720QM 1.7 GHz Quad-Core (2.7 GHz for one core, 2.4 GHz for two, 2.2 GHz for three, 1.7 GHz for four)

GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870, 1 GB VRAM @ 1000 MHz, core speed @ 700 MHz

RAM: 8 GB @ 667 MHz

Graphics Setting: Fantastic @ 1280 x 720 Windowed, fullscreen does not make a difference with the bug. Turning the graphics down to Good or Fast seem to help with the issue, but it still looks like glitter, screenshots will go below.... How do I post a screenshot without redirecting to a URL so it shows without traveling to it?

You'd need to be a member of the Image Tags usergroup in order to post images on a forum thread.
Nothing interesting happens.
