Entire Washington wolf pack to be killed
By Don Jenkins, August 22nd
THE CAPITAL PRESS
Washington wildlife officials have resumed hunting for a wolf pack in Ferry County after investigators determined wolves injured a calf and probably killed two others.
In what would be a first for the state, WDFW said it planned to lethally remove the entire Profanity Peak pack to stop depredations on livestock.

I really hate these entire packs being destroyed! I wish there was a way to make them co-exist with the cattle.
Edit: very interesting article about a man who's trying to save them: http://www.oregonlive.com/environment/i ... on_to.html

Night is now falling, so ends this day.
The road is now calling, and I must away.
Over hill and under tree, through lands where never light has shone.
By silver streams that run down to the sea.

Currently there are still four wolves (one adult female and three pups) remaining in the pack. From what I've heard the hunt has been called off for now since the cattle are off the land.

If that is true, then it will be very hard for that one female to care for 3 pups all by herself. She might just abandon the pups for her own survival.
