WolfQuest Goes to Yellowstone: Amethyst Mountain

WolfQuest went to Yellowstone National Park last September to research the flora and fauna. Each day we hiked into one area of the park that’s represented in the game. Here’s our report for Amethyst Mountain, which includes the Lamar Valley since our bigger, better map will extend down from the mountain to the river. Enjoy!

Ooh, an early update!

Very educational and witty. I love when artists do research for their craft. It really shows! Amazing work.

Nice. Have you figured out more specifically like what month or maybe around what date at some month where it'll be out? I'm tired of beating the game now in a half hour.
Anyway, keep up the goooooooood work! :wolf: :wolf: :wolf:

I always wanted to visit yellowstone, ever since I ended up loving wolves when I was 7 I always wanted to visit there. I enjoy nature and walking on forest paths, I always wanted to go camping but sadly never got to go ever. This is a nice video and it is cool to see how spot on you guys really got when you made the game and attempted to base it off Yellowstone.

I have watched several wolf documentaries involving Yellowstone, and it looks like such an amazing place.

Love the nod to the drinking feature: Our decade long thirst shall finally be quenched. Hurrah!
Thanks so much for the early update, I was so shocked to see this on Thursday. (^:

Thank you guys for making this - I needed the laughs! x) It's so cool to me how much research and detail is going into the game. It's hard to imagine what our wolf characters are actually experiencing behind a screen, but seeing the real thing in video really helps to imagine what a wolf's daily life would look like if they were in Yellowstone. These are some of my favorite kinds of updates!

Plus I'm living vicariously through Dave and the team. I've always wanted to visit Yellowstone.

Aww, that was a cute video Dave and Pepper. Informative and a little cheesy... the flavour of WolfQuest :P.

It was really neat to see and compare the actual landscape to the game's. The music made it nostalgic. This recent-ish move to identify the WQ team members and show progress updates is a good idea. It makes the whole project seem more personal. Roped me back into checking anyhow!

I laughed at the tourist part. In Ontario, even foxes scare people like that!

"Oh come on, no no no- keep driving!" - Yellowstone Tourist.

I want to visit Yellowstone someday, it seems like a really vast and wild place. Where I am there's plenty of wilderness, but not the same type of wide open fields. This seems like perfect wolf habitat.
