Re: Raising Hills in Slough Creek

I love seeing this progress! I look forward to the new dens and the wide selection available. I'm already a bit intimidated at the prospect of rival wolf packs, though. I could see myself claiming territory at the edge of the map and as far away from other wolves as possible. Something tells me this...

Re: WolfQuest Returns to Yellowstone: Slough Creek

I love the research-videos! And bison are going to be terrifying when the time comes, so I'll be preparing my wolves. Also, it was great to see Slough Creek in progress. All the lush scenery is going to be beautiful when it's complete.

Re: When Your Wolf Sleeps...

I don't know, maybe it is a story. But I find it unlikely, since some dreams are pretty crazy and can't be realistic. That's true. Recently my wolf dreamed of two trees with mule deer climbing all over them. I was wondering if some of them were hints and some of them were mere entertainment. ...

Re: Lost River similar to Chernobyl?

I can see the nods to Chernobyl being a sign of definite inspiration for the map, but these days I get more Flint, Michigan vibes when I play there. I doubt Flint was a specific influence or inspiration, but the water crisis began the same year WQ 2.7 went into development, so it does make me go HM...

Re: Lost River similar to Chernobyl?

You're welcome! That would be a fascinating backstory - perhaps she is indeed floppy due to the mutation, or maybe she was naturally (or glitchily?) floppy, felt like an outcast, and found her way to the Lost River where she now rules as queen. :moose: Or perhaps the was the cause of the entir...

Re: Convincing Rival Pack Members

I just realized I never replied to this!
By now I've run across several Pack Dispersals (if that's what they could be called). Thanks for the information! :)

Re: How do you judge dispersal's?

I can't tell if I'm horribly picky or if all the wolves I've found are just extremely lazy. Within the first ten seconds they're sitting down or, worse, lying down and I end up running off at their first sign of laziness. So maybe it's a bit of both. One of the first wolves I found was pretty good (...

Re: Lost River similar to Chernobyl?

The thought's crossed my mind too. I heard that they based it off of whatever people want it to be - it was made with players' speculation in mind - but perhaps it was at least inspired by Chernobyl. There are some decent clues that lead to this theory, too - there are some tanks with cracks in them...

Re: Courtship?

As the others have said, they were probably just excessively cautious. I ran across something similar to this one time, though it was the opposite - the wolves were too bold! I had a carcass (on which they feasted without hesitation - or my permission, at that  ), and some coyotes were nearby. ...

Re: WQ AE Slough Creek

I'm personally assuming that Slough Creek will come in either late summer or early fall of 2020. It currently seems very unlikely that we'll see it released before the end of this year, and I think even early 2020 seems quite unlikely. But since most of the game mechanics seem to already be finishe...

Re: Convincing Rival Pack Members

Oh, interesting. They're just generally prevalent in the pack territories in general, then?
Is the courtship message different if they're not technically dispersals?

Re: Convincing Rival Pack Members

Certain members of the packs are eligible to become your mate. They behave much like regular dispersals and have the diversity pop up + the heart over their heads, so they're easy to spot and differentiate between pack wolves you can't become mates with. The challenge with courting pack wolves isn'...

[3.0] Courtship: General Discussion

I heard that you can actually convince a member of a rival pack to become your mate. Has anyone managed this yet? If so, how do you do it? If you haven't done this yet, which pack would you aim to convince? I'm really interested in trying this out, but haven't managed yet (but I have managed to get ...

Re: Assorted News

Thanks for the update! I look forward to seeing things gradually being added. For some reason I'm really curious as to what scent color bighorn sheep and beavers will have (I have an obsession with the scent colors). The Slough Creek map is going to be amazing and thinking of the next stage of the g...

Re: WQ AE Slough Creek

I don't currently have the source that caused my speculation, but I'll look for it (of course, I may or may not find it). It'll probably be before "The Story So Far" because that was when they were originally talking about Slough Creek. I think that the WQ team said something about the old dens in ...
