Re: Episode 2.5 Fundraising Contest

What a relief that we made it! It was looking a little dicey at the end for a while. Now all that's left is to wait for 2.5, and hope that there will be more funding (or fundraising) for fixes or possibly more episodes.

Re: Southern Rival Packs Den

That's pretty neat. After you jumped, were you transported back to your starting area, or were you able to stay where you jumped?

Re: .::: Mate 'IQ' :::.

Some of my mates are better than others, it seems. In Amethyst Mountain, they're all pretty good, helping me hunt and even taking down bull elk with a little urging from me. In Slough Creek, they tend to be useless when it comes to group hunting, but they always keep the pups well fed and dutifully ...

Re: Southern Rival Packs Den

I vaguely recall seeing it and thinking "Oh, that's neat, the other territories have dens too", but now I'm not sure if this is a real memory or if I thought too hard and created it. It likely was fixed with the new release, which is a shame. I think it would be neat to have more dens for Multiplaye...

Re: Your most beautiful moments in WQ Game

I must say that my most beautiful moment happened about ten minutes ago. I was trying to get my four pups to the rendezvous site, my mate was not being helpful and I kept accidentally running into the Southern Pack. After several frustrated attempts to keep my pups fed and travel to the site, I acci...

Re: Wolf and tiger cubs brought together

It's more than likely that the bond achieved during puphood between to different species will dissolve when the animals mature. Also, as stated in the article, the tiger cubs will soon become way too large and powerful to be maintained as the wolf pups' playmates. When size and power difference bec...

Re: How many pups did you have after you finished SC?

My first game was a test game, so I saved often. I had one pup die, due to an eagle - which shocked me, as I wasn't expecting eagles. I have not completed any games since, as I am waiting for Slough Creek 2.5 to come out, however, I am replaying my test game, just to see if I can get through with al...

Re: Wolf and tiger cubs brought together

Although this is extremly dangerous, it is adorable. At that age, it's not dangerous at all. It's a fairly common practice to raise different species together in captive and domestic situations, precisely because of the bond that forms. At that age, the animals tend to view each other as siblings, ...

Re: The Wolf Mythbuster

And here's a myth about Wolf Genetics: Wolf Eye Color. Determination of eye color is actually fairly complex. Eye color is polygenic; that is, it takes multiple genes to determine the color and shade of the iris (this is true for mammals, although a different mechanism is in place for birds, and lik...

Re: Origin of your wolf's name?

I have a lot of wolves, so I will keep this to my six most commonly used. Aratun - Some years back, I was researching an extinct people known as the Sarmatians. In one of the texts that I read, there was a key for some of the Sarmatian graffiti left on several Roman statue (most of the characters th...

This is such an obvious idea, I'm surprised that I just end my families with Slough Creek, instead of following the logical conclusion. I think I will try this out -- it sounds like fun!

Re: Crazy WQ Happenings!

A few fun things have happened to me. Once, when in Amethyst Mountain Multi-player with some friends (Slough Creek wasn't yet released), one of my friends had a very interesting glitch; she could bite things from afar. Not only that, so long as the rest of us were attacking something, she'd bite wha...

That's kind of fantastic. That app adds a lot of autotune, which is mildly unfortunate, but makes it sound fun!

Re: How long have you researched wolves?

I have been interested in wolves and other predators (besides wolves, cetaceans and raptors have been high on my list) since I was very young, before going to school, according to my mother. I have been actively reading about them for about fourteen years, and I have been actively researching captiv...
