Re: Daddy Long Leg Poison Myth Clarified As False

I've heard this myth, and even been told how dangerous they are, many many times! Glad it's been cleared up, even when I didn't know if it was valid or not, it seemed really silly and implausible.

Re: Should We Bring Back Extinct Animals? De-Extinction Deba

Evolutionary, 100 years isn't long at all for a species. I would guess the time period in which these animals could be brought back, and would be beneficial to their past environments, would be much much longer. Many of the issues with bringing back extinct animals are noted in this link , what I f...

Re: Should We Bring Back Extinct Animals? De-Extinction Deba

Definitely agree with what has been previously stated, recent extinctions within a couple hundred years. Namely, I'd prefer species to be brought back if they are deemed beneficial to the environment, not so much for entertainment and whatnot. But then, deeming certain species as beneficial is pret...

Very neat find!! Definitely sounds like the wings would be used for attracting mates and the like if they are incapable of flight.

Very interesting, thanks for posting this, Koa! Hopefully the proposal goes through, it does note that they have been gone for ~120 years, so to have them back there would definitely be an interesting change. (:

Re: animal keychains?!

At first I was thinking, there is no way.. But nope. It's actually a thing. Poor animals, that's awful. I'm certainly not against eating animals, but they need to suffer as little as possible. This is simply inhumane and cruel, as well as unnecessary.

Re: Ranchers find ways to live with wolves despite deaths

I'm honestly impressed. Losing that many animals isn't cheap, and I especially felt for them when they noted how hard it was to document some of the deaths, like the dogs. If I lost so many horses, dogs, and especially a young colt, I'm not even sure if I'd be that optimistic and understanding with...

I saw this on imgur! It is definitely really fascinating, I like the varying shapes and thicknesses, it really shows how each has a slightly different purpose. Raking, grabbing, traction, etc.
