Re: Serengeti Highway

Don't forget about the Connochaetes taurinus or wildebeest! They migrate across the plains every year and the predators there need them to avoid staving so if the road is built then the wildebeest may have trouble getting across the area which in turn will cause some of the predators the starve whil...

Re: Big black cat caught on camera in the UK.

Not to rain on your parade but i'm not entirely convinced it was really that big. It could be a hoax as it just shows its basic shape. What i think happened is they snapped a picture of a domestic cat and put it in to a picture editor and arranged the shape and shadow of the cat to make it look much...

Yes your thinking of a termite mound. But i saw one in my yard that was as big as a car tire i stepped in it but the worst thing about it was it belonged to Solenopsis invicta Buren or the fire ant... yeah my foot didn't like them very much.

Re: Claw Mystery. Could someone help?

Hmm...well, if it's one of the ones in the picture, I think it's a coyote. I compared it to a quarter and it looks like it's about the same size. It's definitely a tooth and not a claw. But of course, I am in no way an expert on this stuff. Thanks for the help. I agree its a Canis Latrans or coyote...

Stingrays often jump out if the water to "breach" or clean themselves no one quite knows how this works. And yet again i sound like one of those animal show people that bores children. But i like that feeling.

Sad to hear. What idiot put a pipe in a river? >_> I hope everything will be OK. This is quite sad but yes as you said its not very smart to put a oil pipe under a river? They were thinking this when they did it: Oh yeah lets put this oil pipe here so if it spills it don't dirty the grass! I mean h...

Re: New Wolf Species! =>Canis lycaon

Are you sure its not a sub-species? When i looked it up it was not only called the canis lycaon. It was all so called the canis lupis lycaon leading me to think of it as a sub-species of the canis lupis or gray wolf. i feel like i'm one of those guys on animal planet that bores kids with sciencey st...
