Re: Tablet version: Achievements

We've got the Achievements all set up and working in the game! We ended up with quite a few. Thanks for everyone's suggestions and clever names. Those were a huge help! Re: WQ 2.7 Pricing

I have a question... Say if you buy WQ 2.7 when it isn't on Steam, yet later on (if it ever gets on Steam), you want to put it in your Steam library and earn achievements and such. Would you then get a free Steam Key with your purchase of WQ 2.7 (when it isn't on steam yet)? Or would you have to bu...

Re: New version: 2.7 for tablet -- and Mac/Windows!

What Frodo1 said. We can easily publish the game to Linux, but I don't have any idea what kind of unique issues we'd encounter, and it would take time to test and debug them. I was a diehard Mac user in the 1990s, so I'm quite sympathetic to your request, but we have to consider the return-on-invest...

Re: New version: multiplayer and chatting

With regard to the new account system, will we be able to reserve our forum names? Alas, no. With that in mind, my plan is to release the game *only* here on WolfQuest.org for a few days, so regular forum users can get the game and create their account and claim their name, before I make it public ...

Re: WQ 2.7 Pricing

Like version 3, we waited and then noticed the new version 3 of WolfQuest game isn't coming.. There never was a version 3; we tried to squash those rumors when they arose. And don't worry, version 2.7 is definitely coming. We're in the last phase now, just taking longer than we hoped, as always...

Re: Poll: Which platform?

A question just came to my mind, would the purchase of the new version be linked to our WQ account, that way if we are switching between computers/platforms, for example, if we are using a Windows computer but we switch to a Mac, could we just download the Mac download for free because we already p...

Rocks in Slough Creek are pretty light in color:

And yes, these dens are all fictional. Most wolf dens are not quite as dramatically situated.

Re: New version: Pictures and more

We're in the middle of beta testing and bugfixes, but I'm also finding time to upgrade the graphics for the Mac/Windows version of the game. Here's some progress on the Aspen Heights den.

We currently are seeing about 5,000 players daily in MP -- it's kinda hard to monitor that many sessions.

Re: New version: Pictures and more

With the rain i'm talking about the 'glare reflection' where its as if youre looking at the landscape through a body of water, I *think* that must be a graphics card issue with those image effects. We've switched to a newer/better image effects system, so I *think* that won't happen now. and the fi...

Re: New in 2.7: Difficulty levels!

Will the experience points awarded per achievement be increased at a higher difficulty level? That would be cool, though I'm not sure how it would impact gameplay. We'll see about adding some extra achievements for higher difficulty levels. How many levels are there in total? Four. The easiest leve...

This has been on my mind for awhile, but thanks to this thread, I finally buckled down and thought it through to a much better solution.

New in 2.7: Difficulty levels!

Believe it or not, we've just implemented game-wide difficulty levels in 2.7. The goal is to give players more control over their game experience, and also encourage players to spend more time hunting. Essentially, difficulty is based on food scarcity -- namely, those old carcasses that you find lyi...
