Re: Africa, Dangerous or beautiful?

Africa is obviously very dangerous, not just because of the big five and other dangerous animals. But because malaria is very easy to get over there. Africa is amazing though, and I've always wanted to go there.

Re: Reptiles

Burmese pythons aren't that much of a threat towards Florida animals (though they are a problem) Rock pythons, who according to this article eat crocodile and goats are now being found in Florida, and might start breeding with the Burmese pythons to make a "super snake." http://www.treehugger.com/fi...

Re: Sea animals

Awesome! I didn't know they had manatee reserves, it would be awesome to swim with them. It's sad that people try to play and feed them in the wild, it just imprints them to humans, and endangers the animals life. But, it's hard to believe that sailors mistook them for mermaids. xP I guess it's just...

Re: Florida Panther

I have a Florida panther that comes into my neighborhood a couple times a year. I saw him very early in the morning one day. Beautiful and spectacular animals, love them.

Re: Sea animals

I saw a 6 ft. Baracuda today, baracudas are awesome and amazing Predator, very intimidating when you are face to face with a 6 footer though xD. Especially when they open their mouth and see their giant teeth.

Re: Reptiles

I have a Florida soft shell turtle, and he's an awesome little guy, though I plan on releasing him when he gets to big, but he was in bad shape when I found him, so I took him in. Today i was riding my bike and there was a strange looking turtle in the road! It looked like an elephant turtle! XD At ...

Re: Sea animals

Okay, well yesterday i was swimming in this waterway that is connected to the ocean. There were no boats. And i was very deep. The water was terribly murky. You could see about a foot under the water and it was about 20 feet. My mom was on a kayak about 50 feet from me (I was actually swimming to h...

Re: Sea animals

what about waterproof watches and other kinds of jewerly that aren't all that shiny? If it has a glass watchface, then you should definitely take it off. Also, something that's not on that list is avoid swimming in schools of baitfish, or if you see sea birds diving into the water near shore, you s...

Re: Sea animals

I personally prefer land animals but I do love predators and agree that many people have a steriotypical view of a vicious man-eating shark when really sharks often only attack people because their vision isn't the best and they see them as seals. And the thousands of sharks hunted every year overs...

Re: Sea animals

I had no idea manatees were an endangered species. They seem very docile and social. There are "Manatee Zones" in internal waterways in Florida, and other places where they live, where no wake is allowed, because manatees rest at the top of the water a lot during the day. Yet people with external m...

Re: Reptiles

I've seen them in a couple places since I live in Florida, they can't survive in the wild because their skin destroys their camouflage which makes hunting impossible, and the sun can damage their light skin. An albino lacks or has an inhibited gene for melanin, the brown pigment from the skin and ey...

Re: Sea animals

Today, since like noon, i've been on the Kayak. I was kayaking on salt water canals, and this was cool. A boat rode past us and the guy on board is like "Yo! You've go a pod of dolphins coming your way!" So we're like "COOL!" And we are looking around for a fin or something, and sure enough about f...
