Re: Sea animals
The electric eels are awesome, but it sounds painful if you spook one. But I'm pretty sure electric eels live in rivers. I think moray eels are amazing though. I saw this jelly fish when i was younger and i poked it with a stick and it was indeed jelly like. XD I was wondering, can the top of a Jell...

Re: Sea animals
Wow, they head candle their prey before they attack? I did not knew that, thanks for sharing a cool information like that, Shadowwolf. I wonder why they do that, though? To confuse the victim before the charge? That's a very good question, I don't know why they would headbutt their prey. But I thin...

Re: Sea animals
Absolutely, oceanic animals have far more fascinating habits than primates. Any opinions about the Bull Shark? It is very territorial and in the statistics it has attacked more people than the Great White Shark and the Tiger Shark combined. Yeah, living in Florida, our coasts are full of bull shark...

Yes, Domino, octopus' do move by jet propulsion.
Well, they're still testing on the dolphin's on being the second smartest animal, but they are self aware, just like chimpanzees and other primates are. And I completely agree with Silver, I prefer dolphins way over primates.

Re: Sea animals
Well, as research is being done, dolphins could be the second smartest animal on Earth, and MRI scans prove that dolphins are self-aware: Marino bases her argument on studies of the dolphin brain. Bottlenose dolphins have bigger brains than humans (1600 grams versus 1300 grams), and they have a brai...

My favorite dolphin would have to be the Commerson's dolphin, just love their coloration. I saw Oceans today, and most of the animals I've heard of, until I saw the mantis shrimp. This is one mean little guy. Couldn't find a better page then Wikipedia, but here's the link to them: http://en.wikipedi...

I don't believe I've seen a Horseshoe crab before, it sounds really interesting though, I shall go look it up on google. The only crabs I know of is the Violin Crab(very interesting), the King Crab(whic are huge!) and the Fiddler Crab. Actually, horseshoe crabs aren't crustaceans. xD Confusing righ...

Re: Sea animals
Every year, we have hundreds upon hundreds of horseshoe crabs wash up on the beach. The stench is absolutely dreadful, but I still like horseshoe crabs^^ There's jellyfish too on the beachs; it's wierd when you poke them. I use to live near that, horseshoe crabs are awesome. It was fun to watch the...

Re: Sea animals
Illegal to catch a serant fish? Well, I can see that as reasonable. Of course this is depending on the fish, many animals in the sea are going extinct these days because of constant fishing and global warming. Mostly those pointless fishing games however, being similar to hunting games.(real life v...

Actually, it's called an Alantic Goliath grouper, I've never heard it been called the spotted grouper. But it's illegal to catch them, if you hook one, you must cut the line immediately after you figured out it is one. The grouper meat you eat are not from these monsters. ;) I'm also pretty sure it'...

That's a good question Kivia, I'd bet only a few. Has anyone heard of the Irukandji Jellyfish? They're only 35 cm in length, and cause terrible pain if you're stung by them, here's a little bit about them: The Irukandji Jellyfish has a fascinating history. The Irukandji people who inhabit the coasta...
