Re: Name the Bird Sounds CHALLENGE!
Hmmm... Might number 19 be a broad-tailed humming bird? Or a Rufus humming bird? Yet another bird with noisy wings! But not a hummingbird. Here are a few more clues: ...has a long beak ...they are most active at dawn or dusk ...some people think it is imaginary because it is the subject of a practi...

Re: All about the new birds of 2.7.2
This is a fantastic idea! Thank you for posting all this info Pepper, it's a great way to show players new features and help them understand how they fit into the greater YNP system. If possible, it's definitely something we should keep up with.

Re: WolfQuest 2.7.2 Preview
Sorry everyone, we can't let the cat out of the bag as to what's new in LR. SolitaryHowl. Don't torture them. xD Anyway, I'm super excited to see WQ getting ready for another big release! This one is especially dear to my heart as it contains two of my favorite features: ravens and better graphics....

Re: What type of sight do you prefer?
I usually play on O view, with the camera still directly behind my wolf. I like the lower camera angle, especially when hunting or running through grass. V scent is also one of my favorites when I'm in a "realistic" mood, but I tend to miss all the nice colorful graphics after a while. Head cam is c...

Re: Twelve Player MP Game?
I saw a not so great point on the large amount of people too but it made me realize why we could have an educational point on smaller groups like 20 wolves. The elk herds only have 10 or so animals. a pack of five could quickly take out nearly 2-3 elk to feed them all especially during hunting the ...

Re: Twelve Player MP Game?
A lot of people have been bringing up chat issues, and I've come up with a way to remedy this. Separate chat channels, like pretty much every other MMO game on the internet has. Local chat: A chat that only broadcasts in a local area. Only players within a certain distance to your character can see...

Re: Twelve Player MP Game?
It appears to be the same person hosting the game every time. A bunch of people show up, then they go "Be Right Back" and end the game. The same thing happens. It has also always been on the Slough Creek winter map, which makes the game that much more laggy because of the snow. The game host has al...

Re: What level role-player are you?
I'm probably a 3C in-game, but closer to a 4A-5C when online. I'm pretty good at long descriptions and dialog, but I don't practice everyday.

Re: Marketing suggestions?
Nice to meet you, Pepper. Building on what others have said, it seems to me like WolfQuest has two main markets: educational (youth) and art/gaming (teens). These can overlap, of course, but I think these are the game's two primary demographics. Seeing as these two groups expect very different thing...

Re: Researchers use thermal imaging to study wolves with man
After a little searching I'm 90% sure this episode, In the Valley of the Wolves , was where I saw that. I can't be sure though because it looks like they took down the streaming version so I can't re-watch it. It might be on YouTube. That's a curious proposition. If the pack's affliction with mange ...

Re: Researchers use thermal imaging to study wolves with man
Very cool article! I long time ago I saw a show (I think it was an episode of Nature) where they were also using thermal cameras on wolves. They, however, didn't go into detail about manage's costs other than energy loss. It's really interesting to see how it is modifying behavior and travel pattern...

Re: Now available on Steam!
This is great news! I'm glad sales have been good enough for two updates. I'm surprised at have big a market Steam has become, but I guess people are really into that platform.
