Re: Pokémon

[Sees the Yungoos hate in this thread] Don't talk to me or my son ever again I love my angry toothpaste child and I'll protect him from those who compare him to Trump. Hahaha I wouldn't go as far as calling it hate, he just scares me a little. Laughed at the toothpaste bit though, I saw a drawing e...

Re: Favorite Den

Bison Peak is my favorite, and Saddle Meadows after that. I've never tried the Aspen den before though, so I think I'm going to use it for my next run.

Re: Your Favourite Weather Features in WolfQuest

My favorite effect is lightning hitting the trees. Scared the snot out of me first time it happened, but it's a really cool effect. Last time I played, lightning hit the dead tree near where you start in AM. It was a very striking image and I wish I'd thought to take a screenshot.

Re: Which animal is the most fun to hunt?

Elk hunting is hard, but the track that plays when the hunt is officially on is my favorite in the whole game. Howling over it is pretty much guaranteed to make you feel like a Cool Dude

Re: Running around or doing missions?

I like doing the missions, and I get around to all of them eventually, but mostly I just like exploring. Right now I'm just cruising around the maps and marking a copy of the in-game map with interesting things I find, because I'm awful at remembering those places on my own and want to keep them in ...

Re: opinions on realistic/unrealistic rp

My preference would be mostly-realistic, adjacent to Watership Down on the scale of animal anthropomorphism (The animals have language, complex emotions, and oral tradition, but ultimately behave as real wild animals would) That said, I don't mind more outrageous fantasy rps, so long as no power-pla...

Re: Do you Prefer a Strong, Fast or Distance Wolf?

I prefer to build for speed and stamina. Maybe I'm just really bad at distributing my stats properly, but whenever I try to build a wolf for strength, I end up being too slow to catch any elk. Hunting elk is half the reason you build a strong wolf in the first place, and my mate certainly isn't goin...

Re: Nicknames?

I use Bob the Bear, obviously. It's a classic and it just rolls off the tongue. I like Chester for the coyotes, but normally I call them 'Jerry' or 'Zippy' Cow elks are 'Meatburger.' Bull elk are 'Angry Meatburger.' Elk carcasses are 'Discount Roadside Meatburger' The hares, I usually refer to by th...

Re: If You Could Be Any Other WolfQuest Animal What Would Yo

I didn't see an option for it on the poll, but I'd love to play as a hare.
Actually, a wolfquest-style rabbit simulator is something I'd love to play. Probably because I'm such a fan of Watership Down and don't have the decency to be properly ashamed. :P

Re: What type of sight do you prefer?

Usually I just use the default. I'd use scent view more if the overlapping scent trails weren't so disorienting, though. I only really use the orbiting camera when I'm taking screenshots, and I've never actually used the headcam because my computer would bug out whenever I tried to activate.

The other day, I was watching a Planet Earth documentary about arctic animals. The sound of the wolf pup's howling made me feel really nostalgic for this game

Re: most annoying thing your mate on wq has done

Wow. I guess I really dodged a bullet when it comes to Dumb Mate Behavior. I will say though, one really irritating thing that seems to be consistent across all mates is not realizing that you're hunting an elk and not just chasing it until you actually bite it. It has functionally rendered it impos...

Re: What are the most common ways your wolf dies?

Literally all of my deaths have been die to being the idiot who wanted to see if it's actually possible to kill the bear :P

I may have starved once or twice after fighting with strange wolves, but Ridiculous Bear Shenanigans account for at LEAST 85% of my in-game deaths.

Re: Wildest WolfQuest Rumors You've Heard

I kind of wish I'd been around for the midnight pass rumors, they sound like a riot. The only rumors I can remember falling for were the ones about there being able to kill the bear is some way. The Playable Elk Glitch sounds pretty familiar, too.

Re: What Themes Do You Like to Use When Naming Pups?

Usually I name them along whatever theme I've chosen for their parents, and they're all pretty '13-year-old neck deep in their sparkle-dog phase' in nature. Herbs, celestial bodies, precious minerals, things like that. More recently, I made a pack with a naming theme of Werewolves in popular fiction...
