Re: I Do...Do You?

This is all coming out so nice. It's very nice to see how far this has come from the original game. Really looking forward to experiencing it firsthand.

Re: Running Through the Woods on a Snowy Evening

This is beautiful! I love the effect of the snow piling on the fur of the wolf.

It's so wonderful to see the game reach a level that was only dreamed of back in 2007. If child me were able to see this today, they would be crying in joy.

Re: Playing Dead

SnowSprite 's idea is probably the best solution for XP docking. It's treating your Death count as a multiplier. 1 death you lose 500XP, 2 deaths you lose 1000XP, 10 deaths you lose 5000XP. The more you die the more you have to lose. You can expand on this principle and make it so that there's a hi...

Re: Playing Dead

Why not have a choice? Like for example, say you die... You get 2 options. Spawn closer and loose more experience (25%) or re-spawn at a distance and loose less experience (5%). I don't like this at all. Like someone else said earlier in the thread: 25% is a LOT for someone with high XP. Someone wi...

Re: Playing Dead

I personally prefer distance spawn, and do not want my XP count to be touched at all (I play very carefully and put lots of time into it :C) but if you wanna go with a fair XP deduction punishment, I highly recommend autosaves. Dying and having to go back to an autosave in other games basically mak...

Re: Hungry (Sometimes) Like The Wolf

Shrinking the stamina bar is actually quite clever. I can't wait to see the changes to the health bar as well. I'm a little worried of how we will defend pups if we're well fed in those situation, but I'm sure changes to that part of the game will reflect on the limitations. The changes so far are d...

Field Guide / Nature Log A naturalist/field guide sort of function that lets you flip through it and view profiles of all the endemic wildlife in Yellowstone that's been included in the game. Either an artist depiction (like an illustration) or a close up of the game model of the animal (useful for...

2) A radar circle which, within a small radius, displays nearby animals represented as dots. For example, prey animals could be green dots and predators could be red (the dot would depend on the size of the animal. Moose would be large dots, and coyotes would be little dots). In PvP, enemy wolves c...

Re: Wildest Dreams: The Story of WolfQuest

I'm howling at the ShockWave3D test footage it makes me feel so much better about my own project pursuits. It's very heartwarming to find out just how surprised you were at the interest the game attracted. It makes a lot of the functionality choices regarding WQ both in game and on the forum make a ...

Re: WQ 10th Anniversity: Your Memories

I found WolfQuest back when I was 11-12 year old, about right when I first started using the internet. It was the kind of game I always wanted, and gave me the revelation that things are always being discovered and that nothing is as clearcut as it seems. It's also the game that seriously got me int...

Re: Take Me to the River?

I actually prefer for hunger to stack on another bar instead of being on its own, since 5 bars to watch, no matter how neatly it is organized, simply feels a bit too crowded (especially when Mate/Pup health is factored in as well). However, I think it'd make much more sense (and not complicate the g...

Re: Take Me to the River?

I don't particularly think a hunger bar may be a good decision as of yet, but I do think the stamina bar can behave differently than it has been in 2.7 and versions before it. Perhaps changing the HUD to a more minimalist circle system? Appearance can be flashy, but the bars that need priority (hea...

Smaller Mammals - Such as mice, vole, shrew, and pocket gopher, primarily to hunt and eat. It'd be nice to have a prey item that both a) is not an ungulate and b) requires a different kind of tactic to catch than the usual pursuit. Hares are fairly lonely in WQ's current prey pool as a non-hoofed p...

Re: Happy Thanksgiving from WolfQuest!

Hoh. The faces of the wolves definitely look different. I'd love to see a close up comparison of them with the old model's face at some point to see what truly has changed and what's stayed the same.
