I've been really wanting to play it so I need to convince him that (at least at my age-15) I'm old enough and mature enough to do so. He's not backing down and its really annoying and kind of insulting me.
Pretty sure I played the first AC when I was 15, maybe even 14? Might have played AC2 when I was about the same age as well. Never had any issues with it being too "mature". Can't really speak much for Unity or Black Flag and definitely can't give you as much information as Koa, but :p The AC series in general really isn't as bad as some other games that get the same rating. Definitely not on the same level as GTA or something similar to that. There's definitely "worse" games in terms of content that you could be playing. I think the rating on the AC series is a little, extreme for lack of a better word? I don't think it really needs the M rating.

Do you play any other games with the same rating? Or watch TV/movies that, as far as ratings are concerned, are "too mature" for your age? Or books even? Making comparisons between AC and stuff you already play/watch/read may help convince him.
Like, I'm pretty sure the violence in Mistborn is more extreme than it is in AC at some points. Maybe not in how much there is, but how ridiculous it can get, if you know what I mean? Plus reading about body horror is worse than watching someone get quickly stabbed, in my opinion.

Thank you both! I'll go tell him to look at that site tomorrow, Koa.

I'm fairly sure he's convinced that every rated M game is the same. I wouldn't play GTA or CoD because they don't really interest me, and he doesn't want those in the house anyway. I've heard the same about Skyrim, its more of a Teen rated game as opposed to its M rating.

I'll try a bit more of my mission tomorrow, and see how it goes. I'll keep you guys posted.

Trying to platinum Revelations right now. I only have two more memories that need to be fully synched for my last trophy, and their main mission constraints make me want to cry. There's no "Restart at checkpoint" either like in the newer ones... Sigh.

My dad is letting me play it. Yes! I'm going to download it this weekend, if I'm not too lazy haha. Its a three day weekend too so that should be fun and allow me some game time.

Well, maybe not.
So I'm about to load the two games, and my dad comes in.
"What are you doing on the xbox?"
"Loading these games."
"What are they rated?" I don't even get to answer, he grabs the box+code. "Mature, for blood, gore.." etc etc blah blah
"Dad you said it was fine. I've looked the games up. They aren't that bad."
"I'm going to talk to your mother and get back to you on that."
I'm.. what?

(e) About 3 months later, the task is still in the convincing process. They refuse to listen to me and do research. I seriously feel like they're trying to limit me to games my brother can play. Wow.

I suppose if they aren't willing to listen, then there isn't much you can do except wait it out. How old is your brother?

Anyway, I expect we'll receive some news regarding Victory, soon. The Black Flag trailer released sometime in early March, but if I recall correctly, Unity's trailer came a little later. I am definitely interested in Victory, as it is rumored to bring back PvP.

He's 12. And always on the Xbox. Is there a way that you know that we can block his account from accessing mature rated games? Because I think there was, and if we find that I think they'll consider it.

I know with Playstation you can create sub-accounts and manage what they can/cannot access from there from a master account.
These links may be of interest to you:

I do not know how Xbox/Xbox Live works, so it's best to refer to those. It may get tricky with User or XBL accounts.

Play Black Flag yet? That's the better game in my opinion story-wise/present story.

Not yet, I'll be doing that next. I can't really judge, but my brother told me that Unity stayed closer to the original concepts (apparently he knows about it ??? despite that dad won't let him play) so I went with that first.

Unity did in terms of basic assassin themes; the game's strongest trait is the freedom you have in which the way you complete missions. However, the story is fairly cliché and the characters are weak. The Templar plot is also somewhat confusing in the game. Present-day plot is relatively non-existent. In BF, the characters, in my opinion, are fairly interesting; the story is different from the series, and while Edward does not become an assassin so early in the game as Arno and the core gameplay is not all assassin gameplay, I still think it is a solid game in the AC series, and really enjoyed it. Loved the present day plot.

They have planned for ten years' or so worth of Assassin's Creed.
Various studios work together on different titles for the series at the same time. They probably have more titles in the works as we speak; so, they are not exactly made within a year or two, even though the annual release may seem to suggest such.
