Howling problem?

Post by kthblossom » Sat Nov 19, 2016 3:14 am

Hi,
I just wanted to see before I sent it off as a bug if anyone else is having this in 2.7 Slough Creek (with pups).
My game isn't moving the blue pack affinity bar up if I howl, but it will go up I'd I move the pups manually. Is this a problem for anybody else, or is it just me? (I'm on Windows 10 too and the game is from the launcher, not Steam or itch.io)
Sorry if this doesn't belong here, take it down or move it if needed :)
Thank you

Hi Dabtanboys_,

This was a bug that has been fixed as of 2.7.2p7, released on November 14th 2016.

Not sure if it's intentional that howling no longer affects affinity... or does it still increase affinity at a lower rate/with a cooldown? If I recall correctly, play bowing and wagging your tail while close to one or more pups raises pack affinity...? (Haven't played WolfQuest in a while, so I'm not sure how much has changed.)
Nothing interesting happens.

Hmm, okay, I'll try it again. Maybe it was just lagging or a one time thing ^^
Thank you

Actually, after 2.7.2p7, howling does still affect your pack affinity bar. But now you can't just spam the howl button to complete the Train Your Pups mission in five seconds. I found out that you have to howl all the way (just like you have to do in order for howling to count as marking territory) in order for it to count towards your pack affinity bar.

I apologize if I wasn't supposed to post here, I just wanted to help clear things up.

Ah, that change makes way more sense. Thanks for clarifying Sunset! ^^
