Re: Power Playing: Good or Bad?
Good for sharing this! on the other hand I think some people want to be strong with their pack and like you said; having magical powers and stuff.. Anyway I don't like it either but that's how some people wanna play multiple.

Re: Power Playing: Good or Bad?
I can understand if someone want's to have a specially powerful wolf, but god modding and instant kills go a bit over my understanding. there's no plece for a plot in something like that.. but someone may disagree with me on that one.
but if there's enough interest and imagination in creating the magical wolf they could be played realisticly(sp?).
But so far in my time on wolf quest. I have yet to find an almost realistic game that I'd love to play with poeple.

Re: Power Playing: Good or Bad?
Power-Playing is, in my opinion, a result in our human arrogance and our own egos.
We never want to lose.
Trying to be an almighty entity is really annoying in my opinion, especially when they don't give you a choice. In fact, on another website I actually play a couple of deities in a forum roleplay, and even I have enough sense to give them human qualities and limits. Nothing is unstoppable. Everthing has a weakness.
Especially deities and demons.
Unrealistic roleplays that involve fantasy and overbearing, werewolf strength and sudden deaths are what ride on my nerves. It's those people who want to be in a world that they can pretend and be whatever they want. They play like they're the ruler, controlling life, death, and the plot of the story around them. It's the very human nature that makes most teenagers rebellious against their parents.
I hope that someday this is stopped with a phrased chat. Personally i go on MP a lot with a realistic, pack like chat and no one ever joins. xD They always leave once they find out waht it is, and bark at me saying that "that's for single player only!" Then i'd get into a one sided, hot-headed conversation about the rules and forum.
Blah. People are just silly sometimes.

One question: What is power playing? Is it some kind of roleplay game on Multilayer? :/

Re: Power Playing: Good or Bad?
Power-Playing is unfair roleplay, where in instances like a mystery or combat, one person, or multiple persons, refuse to go with the flow. They always know what's going on, somehow can walk when they are injured, and basically never die.Aspine wrote:One question: What is power playing? Is it some kind of roleplay game on Multilayer? :/
Here is an example:
Wolf1: *goes pins wolf2 to the ground*
Wolf2: *suddenly has catlike claws and scratches wolf1*
Wolf1: *releases wolf2 and slinks away*
Wolf1 was actually playing fairly while wolf2 was not.

Re: Power Playing: Good or Bad?
Very interesting topic. ^ ^
I find power playing annoying. Of course, everyone wants to be the most 'powerful' and they will get it however they can. I simply remind them that power playing is unfair, and not very realistic.I prefer people don't RolePlay at all, but if they do, then at least be fair about it.

Re: Power Playing: Good or Bad?
Oi, I hate power playing, I've experienced it before, but I just never knew what it was called. XD
Anyways, I usually steer clear of powerplaying and go to games with names like 'RealWolfRP'.

Re: Power Playing: Good or Bad?
I don't usually like to roleplay, but when I am in a roleplay game and if people try to 'throw me against a tree/rock/whatever, I usually just say it's not physically possible, and continue on my merry-submissive wolf-way.
Also, there are too many people on Wolfquest who think wolves fight often. My favourite ones are the ones that say 'RealWolfRP' and the RP is far from being realistic. I just laugh at those ones and tell them to research real wolf behaviour.

I got sick of RPing because everyone would never Rp realsticly. You get mocked and picked on if you back down because wolves dont healnstantly or have an endless supply of blood and energy.

Re: Power Playing: Good or Bad?
I usually make private RealWolfRP games with my friends. Here's how it usually goes:
Wolf1: Trots into wolf land, does not realize it though
Wolf2: Walks around her land, scent marking here and there
Wolf1: Spots another wolf on the horizon and approaches
Wolf2: Confronts wolf and raises tail, growling
Wolf1: Submits immediatley and runs away, reminding self not to go there again
I think thats realistic enough for me. =)

Re: Power Playing: Good or Bad?
I think that, and dont get me wrong I agree with most of you on this, Power Playing is fine. I think people who Power Play are just trying to get more "action" or "adventure" than what they recieve from 'RealWolfRP's. If they want to Power Play in their own chat rooms then by all means dont discourage them! If they came into a 'RealWolfRP' and started to "power play" rather than act like a normal wolf, then yeah I would get mad because real wolves just dont behave that way. It just depends on what the chat rooms are based on, whether they be 'Power Playing', 'RealWolfRP', 'HighSchoolRP', WereWolf/VampireRP', or any others, people have a right to RP whatever they please (as long as its appropriete).
And she, the lone wolf, literally and figuratively, walks, not runs, through bitter and agony so she may respect them forever more and never forget the tremendous pain they have caused her, through her neverending battle within herself...
