How to appropriately roleplay a wolf pack in MP games

Post by WQ Coordinator » Thu Sep 02, 2010 10:09 am

Since most gender- and mate-related words have been removed from the chat lexicon, people have been upset because they want to be able to roleplay making a wolf pack, which in itself is appropriate, but can't figure out how to form a pack without asking for a mate. So I'd like you all to offer suggestions for how to appropriately roleplay a wolf pack without needing genders or mating, as well as without using the terms 'alpha', since it's no longer accurate. I (and perhaps some ever-so-kind moderators? ;) ) will update this first post as the list is made. Important note: these words may be used in the game for wolf roleplay, but not when they refer to seeking someone of the opposite gender or finding human 'pairs'/'partners'.

Please refer to this topic for further explanation of why terms such as alpha aren't in the lexicon: Why aren't words like alpha and beta in the lexicon?:

;D

Word suggestions for pairs:
chief, main, primary

-Chief pair
-Main pair
-Primary pair

Would those work, and possibly the word "partner" or would that be taken too far?

Partner was in the badwords list, though I'd be tempted to allow it again if it's used appropriately. I'll allow it again in the next round of lexicon updates and we'll see how it goes.

Yeah, that's kinda what I figured. I consider it to be somewhat of a 'formal' word so to speak and it'd be kind of odd to use in a bad way, but again, people will do whatever they can to get their way.

Nice topic Cana! I'm sure it will help give others a lot of different ways to express the dominant wolves of a RolePlay pack.
I was thinking they could be known as:

-Highest ranked pair
-The leaders
-Top wolves/Top ranked wolves

FOOLS WHY HE'S

Interesting topic Cana. ^^
It's a really good idea, and will help with members (and hopefully help stop the 'mate' thing going on in MP. And the complaints).

  • Captain Pair (lol)
  • Director pair
  • Advised Pair
  • Executive Pair
  • Supervisor Pair
  • Guidance Pair
  • initiative Pair (not sure)

Thank you for posting this, Cana. It's very useful when you want to RP in the game^^

Great topic Cana ^^. I have a few ideas not to sure if they'd be classed as the ones like dominant pair etc ^^.

"influential pair" or "predominant pair"

In my honest opinion I think the word "pair" could be taken differently, but oh well, that's just me overthinking xD
  • Paramount pair
  • Keynote pair

I have another one; the definition of the word matches a great amount so I thought I'd suggest it. (I use the word for my pack's alphas :D The second is for Betas.)
  • Filtiarn Pair
  • Bodolf Pair
  • Vox Pair
  • Ulrike Pair
  • Guide Pair
  • Governor Pair
