The words in that post alone says it all.
WQ Coordinator wrote:The large bird you may see during the final mission (Journey to Rendezvous Point) is a golden eagle. Golden eagles are nowhere near big enough to attack and prey on an adult wolf, but they are big enough to attack a wolf pup. The way to defend your pups is by charging at the eagle before it kills them or carries them away. Attached are a couple screenshots of this eagle, taken by amandapj1998.

Like I said in an earlier post, it's a golden eagle. I just got a book from my library about eagles, and the golden eagle was in it.

Id have to say a raven as ravens are usally found flying around wolf dens but it may be a vulture as these are really big meat eating birds also im not to sure because it must have to be a strong bird to kill and carry a wolf pup.

The feet of a vulture are too weak to carry food. Therefore the bird in the game can not be a vulture.

When I first saw the thing, I thought it was a homicidel raven.
Then I got a closer look and realized it was an eagle.

I would have to say Golden Eagle.
Hawks are just a bit to small.
we literally have no way of knowing whether or not the world outside of our consciousness exists

Not only have the devs, admin, and mods specifically said it was a golden eagle
http://www.wolfquest.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=34834 , but it even looks like a Golden Eagle:
http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/golden_eagle/id
It is much too big to be a hawk... and I don't know of any hawks in Yellowstone that have that color. Though it may sound like a red-tailed hawk
http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Red-tailed_Hawk/id it isn't because it has no red tail (and it's way too big). They may have used a red-tailed call in the game though, as their calls are often used for other hawks and eagles in movies and video games. (If this is the case though I hope they change it, because WQ is supposed to be a realistic game... and then they'd stop confusing everybody!)
