I call them Eagles, don't know why. They could be hawks though.

It may look like another type of eagle, or a hawk in others' opinions, but it obviously was intended to be a golden eagle c;
^_^ Thanks for the clarification! I always thought it was a hawk due to its colouring, as I previously thought eagles could only have black and white colouring. Guess I was wrong... :lol:

It is most-likely a golden eagle because hawks wouldn't be able to pick up a pup and golden eagles are much more realistic for the game. I shall think it is a golden eagle, but people may believe what they want to. Cheers!

There's nothing wrong with others' opinions and the such, but by the FAQ and the WolfQuest Team, I guess it was originally intended to be a Golden Eagle, despite what it may have turned out like. ^^

On another note, there is always some people who believe one thing and some people who believe another. So it basically comes down to whether you want to use the correct term - scientifically, intentionally and factually - as the Golden Eagle, or whether you wish to regard it as a hawk. It doesn't really affect much, just when you are posting on the forums it helps out if you call it an eagle, so it is simple for others to understand.

for some reason, I'm convinced it's really a vulture with feathers on it's head e.o But as far as I know, it's "correctly an eagle..." So how do I think it's a vulture? ...So I much prefer to call it a vulture, if you ask me (but I know it's an eagle).

I think it is a hawk, not an eagle.

I think it's a real eagle. There are more of them in Yellowstone and they are one of those usual birds that can be first imagined by wolfquest developers.

I've always called it an eagle. Silvie and some other people who first chatted about WQ and introduced my to it on this other fourm called it an eagle, and my mind just got used to thinking "EAGLE!" It looks to big to be a hawk, in my opinion. But I could easily imagine an eagle swooping in and snatching up a wolf pup.

Eagles are species of hawk though. So its both a hawk and an eagle.

Technically it is a golden eagle (though yes, eagles are basically just big buteo hawks), and I'd recommend you all searching on youtube for golden eagle videos- there are even some that show a golden eagle going after small dogs/wolves with their talons. Really interesting, if you're okay with watching what happens afterward.

Just in case you wanted an official answer (but thanks for providing the FAQ link!).
