Single Player Traditions

Post by BlackWarrior » Mon Nov 28, 2011 6:07 pm

I looked through the WQ topics and didn't find anything like this so I decided to ask everyone,

Do you have singleplayer traditions that you do each time you play?
Maybe you always hunt in a certain place, howl each night, sleep till dusk, or many others.
Maybe you have traditions that you do while playing like listen to music, do homework etc.

I personally have the tradition of once I find a mate, we always go hunt. Also I will howl whenever night comes as well as make for the trees when it rains. I will share more after I hear some that you guys do. ^^

I haven't played SP in forever...so I'm not sure. I've only finished the game once lol.

WolfQuest no longer works for me.

I do the "howl after every successful hunt" bit every other game. ;) But I do it more often whn I'm alone, especially since I pretty much never go on Multiplayer. I've noticed that, at least in my game, coyotes will come out after I do so. So it's kind of endorsing the whole circle of life. C:

I also have a habit of running for shelter when rain fails, and going to all the packs in a very specific order. xD I'm rather odd like that.

I usually howl after a successful kill, otherwise I don't have any 'traditions'. Actually, it's more like a habit now, and I do it in multi-player too.
Moving accounts to Crupi. See you there.

Hmm. Another "tradition" I have while playing is visiting the different territories in the same order each time. Like what Phantom Wrote:

^^ I also howl after a successful hunt as well as lead the elk I am currently hunting in the direction of the "pink cloud" rising from other carcasses. This allows me to fill my stomach and keep hunting. ;)

I always go to sleep after hunting ( only in AM)
I always wait for my mate to return before I go of to places
I always jump around with my new mate when the happy music comes on
I never scavenge unless my pups are half starved and I'm limping
after making my pups walk a very long distance I round them up in a shrub to rest until day or some other time
i'm not around much but you see me now and then ;)

My only real tradition would be that, after every successful hunt, I'd howl. Not sure why I do that, I guess just so my mate doesn't eat all the food first. =P
In SC I always choose the Bison Creek den when I'm not experimenting with other dens. With the pups, I tend to always scavenge and stay near the den until we have to move to the rendezvous site. x3

Good question! I always make an all-black wolf, or as close to all black as I can and I always get a mate in the same location (my mate always has black fur). First I go to the very farthest area, and then to the top left, and then I get my mate from the top right corner. Usually 4/5 games I have played I have gotten a black-furred mate in that area. I also howl after every successful hunt and when I see a bear. Tip: (this might not work for you, it doesn’t for my niece but it always works for me) approach an eating bear from behind and howl. Go closer to it and howl again. After it sniffs the air it will stand on its back legs. If you howl while it’s on its back legs it will run away. ;) That’s another of my frequent traditions.

Thanks for sharing everyone! It appears so far, howling after a hunt is one of the more common traditions. ^^
Also, I am going ti have to try that bear idea stated above. ^
:3
hmm, o just realized I have a traditional way of hunting. The first step is I go into scent mode and mind the herd. Once it is in view, I will stalk until I am as close as I can be. I will usually circle around the herd to find the weakest one. Once I do, I always leap forward and drive it away from the herd. XP

I have quite a few traditions:
  • > I always visit wolf territories in the same order: Slough, Druid, and then Specimen.
    > I always have the same hunting technique: Pick out the weakest one, attack it, step back and allow it to move closer to it's herd, and then repeat the process.
    > I always howl before and after a hunt.
    > I always choose the Bison Cut-off den in SC.
    > I always use the same route for the Final Journey in SC.

i always howl after a good hunt and I mostly pick the weakest elk of the herd and herd it towards my den (if I picked one) and I mostly look for food if my food pile is gone or very low and my pups are starving or I'm limping from killing/ chasing away a predator. Then on the journey, I pick my pups, one by one, and place them in a spot ipthat is close to the other pups and race back to get the others. I repeat until all my pups are in the spot I want to put them and I do it again until I reac the star.

Well for me I usually howl before I start the game (for some reason it makes my game faster) I then try to find a mate then hunt for a while. I don't howl at all after a kill but during the part with the pups and the meeting point I howl then stop and grab my pups and take them one by one. The howling takes long but I usually Dinah the game in under 1 hour.

Usually I wander around at the end of SC and get all pups but one to die out. The one that survives is the winner xD

And that howl-after-hunts-that-work thing, but it seems everyone does that xD.
