Running vs. Walking?

Post by Phantom Blackshadow » Sat Mar 10, 2012 7:50 pm

( Mods, if there's already a topic like this, I'm sorry. D: There wasn't as far as I've checked, but I'm still a bit unsure about making a topic in the first place. xD)

Have you ever tried walking through the levels instead of running through them? Do you walk regularly? Do you normally run everywhere?

I recently tried this with one of my new files, and found walking to actually be far more efficient. I didn't have to sto to eat nearly as much, and besides that, if I did have to eat, I usually came across hares on my travels and just ate them. Walking is a much easier way to conserve energy, it seems.

However, running gets you places faster, and if you have a distance wolf, it's not so bad on your stamina/health (I notice your health seems to go down faster, even though it's still barely noticable, when you're running). And, when you have to stop to eat, you can usually just scavenge from a carcess along your way.

Which do you guys generally prefer? C:

Since I usually always create a distance wolf that is also fairly strong, I prefer to run. Slowly, I might add :) .

I prefer to run everywhere in Slough Creek, but when I`m in AM, I usually walk.

I personally run, just to be able to get the first mission done faster. I also run when it comes to traveling with my pups, to feel safer and get to out location faster.
I do though, enjoy walking through the woods or along the cliffs just to have a break and get the feel for the woods. That's what makes the game more realistic as well. ;)

I have little tolerance for moving at a slow pace in general, so running is my preferred method of getting around.

For me, slow pace isn't good. I prefer to run. First because it's funny, and 2nd, because you are going where you want faster.

My preferred source of movement would be without a doubt running! Generally I always pick smaller wolves that have a lot of speed and stamina. And although it takes me longer to take down the elk or something...If I can get places faster it is totally worth it. :P

Ohh, interesting question. x3
I personally prefer running everywhere, since you get there faster (especially when a predator is coming to snatch up a pup!) I only really walk when I'm around the den scent marking, or just watching the pups/picking them up and keeping them near the den. ^^

I usually run in AM, because looking for a mate takes a while, and I find a lot of drulds. :/ But mostly walking in SC. On MP too.

I always run. I'm a little bit of an impatient person. xD
I really need a signature...

In the meantime, here's a rainbow.

I never walk. It's much too slow for me.
Instead, I adjust my wolf's stats so to make sure it possesses max(or nearly max) stamina and run. You don't have to stop as often, therefore making travel easier. I'm not a very patient person either, so I like speed.
