Changes/additions to the old maps in 2.7

There's a few topics for 2.7, but I noticed there weren't any that focused on the new additions and changes to Amethyst Mountain and Slough Creek, so I figured I'd make one!

So discuss any of the new additions to the old maps here! What do you think of the updated graphics? Have you found the human signs in Amethyst? Have you found anything else new or different?

I heard the plane for the first time in a co-op mission and thought it would only be the sound at first, but I glimpsed the plane itself out of the corner of the screen ^.^ pretty neat.

(hopefully there aren't other topics like this, I checked around but didn't see anything)

Well actually having a fossil forest is pretty stinkin sweet ;) Not to mention all the cool new rocks and stuff everywhere ;)
The wheel in Slough Creek moved though. It moved. What is this sorcery? O.o

Ah yeah I loved the Fossil Forest! Really pretty (and makes for the best screenshots honestly) and the new rocks in Slough Creek look great too, a lot nicer and more realistic. I haven't had the chance to explore SC much so I really need to get on that!

Apparently the plane will occasionally be heard/seen if a wolf (either yours or someone else's depending on which game mode you're playing and who's wearing it) is wearing the radio collar. It startled me when I first heard it, but it was really cool to see!

I dig the fossil forest, and the updated graphics make everything gorgeous. Who else is lovin' the new water?

I actually still haven't seen the plane, even through all the betas. I'll have to keep playing until I see it. :P

I saw the plane in the first couple of betas, but after that I haven't seen it. Dave insists it is there (and other people have seen it as well), so I don't know what's going on. I thought it was just me!

I only heard it once during beta testing in one of the early betas with my sole radio collared wolf in Amethyst Mountain... haven't heard it since, but then I haven't really been using that wolf. Just curious, but does the event only occur in AM?

I seem to recall seeing it in LR and SC too, but I might be misremembering!

Also I love that Fossil Forest has fossils now. I like the one that looks like a hand O:

I've heard the plane once in AM, but it flies by more in SC. And ooh I did notice it never flew by when I played my uncollared wolf, so perhaps it is only with collared wolves? Neat feature. It's like biologists coming to check on the wolves.

And yes, the new water is great! It's more realistic and the swimming animation is awesome. Do the other animals swim too?

I also noticed how stranger wolves behave in SC, really really cool! And I like it much more than the little video in the corner showing the wolf running up to you. It's cool to see the rival pack coming up to you and growling.

...I need to test this O.o I know Solitary's wolves usually don't have collars, but my main 3 all do, and I get planes all the time! This needs testing... if so, dude, that would be awesome!
I think the elk are actually tall enough to run O.o Haven't seen any other animals enter the creek, really...

I saw a picture of the plane on the Facebook page. I started wondering why I have not seen it but then I realized -- my wolf does not have a radio collar on :p
I have to play the game on the fastest settings or else it goes to like 6 fps :\ But first thing I thought was cool is the particle effect -- the leaves and stuff that blows in the wind near your wolf. You can also jump onto rocks to :D
I have not been around SC too much, mainly AM and a bit of Lost River. When i saw Fossil Mountain, my jaw almost dropped since it was so unexpected but blended really well into the ground. I also noticed some ledges along the mountains as well... I have not checked out the cliffs in SC yet, but im going to assume there will be some there as well.

roguemoon said something about the other pack territories in SC and I agree, it's really cool. When I first saw the pack (coming from Saddle Meadows, down the hill there) I thought they were elk but what would elk be doing over there? Then I relized, whoa that is a pack of wolves! It looks like they are playing or something. I get a little closer -- WHOA their running right for me. But then stop at the boarder and start growling.
I'm not sure what this little video is at the bottom corner -- i'm assuming I did not see it cause of my settings.

Also wanted to add: The moon tree is still in AM! xD
