Wildest WolfQuest Rumors You've Heard

I apologize if this sort of topic has either already been established or is considered undesirable. I've searched for a similar topic and was unable to find one.

Upon scrolling through some older WolfQuest forum posts, I began to wonder just how many weird rumors about this game have been drifting around our tiny corner of the internet. I feel like it'd be interesting to discuss any false claims that have been made about the game and proven untrue.

The wildest rumor I've ever heard about WQ is that a third episode involving werewolves and hunters was being made (so much for "educational game", right?). I believe it was called "Midnight Pass", and it actually gained a little bit of traction back in the day. Of course,it's been disproven, but I was really surprised as to how many people genuinely believed it.

So what are the strangest, goofiest, wildest rumors everyone else has heard? Please be sure to elaborate on them and, of course, add any sources that either prove or disprove them. We are not here to encourage the spread of any myths that have been busted. If you're not sure whether or not a rumor is true, feel free to ask, as others may have sources to answer your question.

Heh, I remember that Midnight Pass "video". I still find it funny that people believed it to be real even through the models were clearly chroma keyed from World of Warcraft. Tsk tsk...

Pulled this from the Wiki article-
There was a rumor of a camper's 'tent' that made noises if the player came near it at night. It has also been said that the player's wolf could actually eat from a bowl left outside.

There was a really popular rumor for a while that there would be cougars and bison in 2.5. Cana had to make a thread disproving that one too.

I don't know how much traction it gained, but I remember the old talk of, supposedly, another den in Slough Creek- in the southern wolf pack's territory. People scoured every inch of that land, looking for this rival pack's den... you can guess how much success we had.

I've heard of that one, too. The discussion actually went on for a while, but Cana confirmed that there weren't any dens in either stranger wolf territory, so what everyone saw was either a glitch or something they mistook as a den.

I heard about it too, and I actually saw it once when playing 2.5. I think it was a glitch, because I've never seen it again after that one time. xD

That's prrrobably the most reasonable theory about it. Considering how many people who claim to have seen it said that their game glitched to heck right before, it was likely a glitch.

Definitely the Midnight Pass rumor. There were... a few confusing things about that one, though the most confusing was how many people actually believed it. Because werewolves and hunters in Yellowstone is completely realistic and fits in with the game's purpose?

Hey, I've heard that the WQ team is working on a patch where you will be able to fight with another online players. Does anyone know if it's really true? Anyways, it would be amazing!

It is unbelievable how people believed the Midnight Pass rumor, since this game is supposed to be realistic and is set in Yellowstone park, humans and werewolves are definitely not going to appear. I guess people are too gullible these days.

I have heard about this one too. The 'zombie pup' is just a texture fault/glitch, not an actual change in the pups behavior so it wouldn't suddenly begin to attack coyotes and pups.

I don't know for sure but I doubt that this is true, I've not actually played there new game and I've not fully read through their aims for this new version but I'm pretty sure Multiplayer is more of a Roleplay/co-op thing, not really against one another, thus I think this is doubtful. However, I am not really in a position to answer the question and this is just my opinion.

Awww... It would be cool if we had an option for it, like we do with "Raise Pups" or "Pack Life". Idk... maybe in the future?

Possibly, although I guess that if you look at it practically, people may abuse it like Lexicon in 2.5. Some people would probably join multiplayer just to go around killing other wolves so looking at it in that aspect would probably get the idea turned down.

Yeah, you're probably right. Better keep the educational side only.

The only one I've ever seen were occasional people saying that the game was coming to Wii, Playstation, DS or some other console. Those topics always got shut down quickly as there were, and are, no plans or intentions to put WolfQuest on anything other than Windows/Mac/Tablet.

I missed the Midnight Pass thing. I guess I wasn't around multiplayer or the forums anymore at that point. I can't understand why some people believed it.
