What does everybody think about that? I know this past year, the calgary stampede had about 5-6 horses die. Poor innocent horses. What is your opinion?

I dont see anything wrong with this kind of stuff as long as people dont get lazy and skip around the safty regulations for both people and animals. I enjoy rodeos and have close friends who often pertispate in them.

Frankly, in any sport that involves heavy activity and animals, people and animals are going to die or get seriously hurt. It's going to happen whether people like it or not. Animal cuelty to in is the intent to harm or kill an animal, not accidents caused by a fall, or so human/animal error.

But you always have people who compleatly disreguard the animals safety as well as their own, which stirs up all the crazy animal rights people willing to do anything to shut a reodo. Like wolves, the few who did bad overshadows those who follow the rules and hold a bad image over all reodo-ers. Bad always over shadows good, no matter how hard you try in this case.

You're right. I am just saying, if people are careless, then its ot very good, yet accidents do happen.

yeah, that what makes me mad. It seems all they want to do is with the biggest buckle or the cash prize, disreguarding whoever gets hurt or killed. Then they get fustrated when people condem them for what they do.

I understand cows and horses are not made of bits of fluff, and a little riugh riding won't do all to much harm as long as they are not ridden into the ground. But when you're tazeing the poor thing or punching their nose, it's crossing the line. If the horse refuses to buck, ask for a re-ride. Don't shift the flank strap to where it's highly irritable for the animal! Leave it where it belongs.

I've been to a reodo and it was quite fun. The animals were look after by a vet if they showed signs of injury, they were sheltered and had acess to water and the proper food. I espicaly loved the berral racers.

Be wary of this venturing into "humans are bad; save the animals" type of discussion. Thanks!

So sorry Mods... (Koa) It will change...

It could be the animals too, such as if an animal has not been trained properly.

I don't think the animals are trained to buck... as that would be unfair in some way (I don't remember at the moment lol). I wanna learn how to berral race, but I never go faster than a trot

If a horse gets gored, It's the riders fault for not moving the horse fast enough. I'm quite sure a horse qould out run a bull... then again I'm thinking of the spanish bull fighters on horse back, (which is very fun to watch btw). I think it's regulation to have a vet or two on staff. Through Im sure a few rodeos skip out on this...
