I recently went to Mission:Wolf in Westcliffe. Next time you're in the area, make the stop. Don't get discouraged by the long winding dirt road to the center, keep going, and follow the directions on their website (www.missionwolf.com).

We arrived on the day of the "Big Feed" where you get to help with feeding the wolves raw meat. When we drove up, we saw a dead horse hanging near the front of a kinda run down building. We found out soon that many farmers will donate their dead or dieing livestock to the center to feed the wolves. Mission: Wolf offers to take the animal away for free. After we took the tour around the center, the volunteers were cutting the horse into chunks for the wolves. Mom and I put on a rain jacket and gloves and offered to help.

Before the feed, we got to meet Kent, the founder of the center. He offered to take us into the wolf enclosure. We agreed and got a talk about how to act when we get into the enclosure. The wolves were not shy when we entered the fence. In the enclosure there were three wolves, who all wondered out of hiding to greet us. A wolf greeting consisted of the wolves getting to lick your teeth. Wolf breath is surprisingly fresh!

Overall, the center was nice, the volunteers friendly, and the experience a unique one. I highly advise it if you're around.

Sounds like a neat experience, river !

Speaking of visiting these wolf centres.. I've actually gotten the chance to visit the Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Centre . It was amazing to see the wolves in action, outside of any normal zoo. :) I was lucky enough to come face to face with their white wolf, Moab, as well as the darker wolf named Tuk . If you live in that area, it's highly suggested that you take a look. ^^"

Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center (CWWC) is a great educational center in Divide, CO. It includes, not just wolves, but coyotes, foxes, horses, and chickens! With a standard tour or VIP tour, you can learn many thing about wolves. Also, they do include timber and mexican wolves! They also fight for wolves rights! (To stop wolf hunting)!!! :D

Edit: BTW: The website of CWWC is: http://wolfeducation.org/ !!!!!! Enjoy! (Its about 2hours away from Denver, 2 hours away from Colorado Springs!!!!) :D

(thanks Hidden Phoenix, won't happen again!!!!)

Bear Country U.S.A., it is near Rapid City, South Dakota. Not sure if they are just a zoo or a sanctuary... but I know you can see wolves and on some days you can play with them. When I went it was really cool because they did have several rescue wolves so I was happy with that! It is a very nice place to go, and I would suggest it to anyone who is going near/through South Dakota.

There is another one is Pennsylvania called The Great wolf sanctuary of Pennsylvania. Tis really cool and it has lot's of wolves and there's packs and tours. There is also a moonlit tour but you have to be sixteen or older to go to the moonlit tour. :( I recommend you to go there if you can. There's also a place called great wolf lodge in Virginia but it has no real wolves.

Great Wolf Lodge isn't a wolf center. Its an amusement hotel/indoor waterpark/place where your money gets taken and you get really nothing because its not very good. As far as I know, they do nothing for wolves.
