Where do you go to learn about wolves?

Post by pawnee » Sun May 03, 2009 7:52 am

Where do you go to learn about wolves? and do you think the quality is any better/or less than other sources?

I read an article in a hunting magazine that most youth browse the internet for research...Like wolf quest, International wolf center and other educational sites are great but theres also a lot of bogus out there about wolves too. so I was just wondering where do you like to learn about wolves?

I'm not exactly 'youth', but here is my reply.

Books
Television (such as documentaries on PBS)
Conservation centers and their websites
General internet (when I'm looking up specific details)
Hands on (dealing with captive wolves and wolf mixes)
Talking with other people who have first hand experience with wolves (either captive or wild)

So I guess you could say - All of the above

The internet is a good source as long as you know the website is reliable and that articles cite sources for their claims.

I support the alliance.

I'll come here, check out a book from the library, pull out The Art of Being A Wolf, or check a reliable website like National Geographic or Animal Planet or the Minnesota Zoo website.

Use many different sources... mainly my information comes from the Internet (WQ, Wikipedia and International Wolf Center). Sometimes I read books and visit other educational wildlife sites. And of course I'll interact with wolf fans world-wide.

I mainly use WolfQuest, this website (More specifically this section :3), and wolf.org. Sometimes if Animal Planet has something on about them. I don't have any zoos or wolf centers around here, so books, internet, and television are my limit!

I usually use these forums, or the WolfQuest game if I want to clear up on something.

If that doesn't help me, I go to wolf.org.

If that still doesn't help me, I use my friend. (Google.)
