For ranger Kaitlyn Kunce, one such discovery came during a recent marine debris survey in the park, when she and her co-workers stumbled across a grey wolf carrying its catch – and the meal choice was one they'd never encountered before. Clutched between the wolf's jaws was a young sea otter pup.

Oh wow that's pretty interesting. Whenever I see images or videos of otter pups they're often floating in the middle of a body of water, so it's surprising to hear that wolves have been able to catch them. I suppose if they are accessible to wolves (i.e. in shallow enough water), they'd be easy enough prey since they wouldn't put up much of a fight. Those Alaskan wolves really don't stop surprising people, huh?
