Factual FAQ & Mission Assistance

I am having trouble with the first mission, Finding a Den. How do I do that?

There are green circles spread out throughout the map. Those green areas are called Den Sites, and a den is located there. Once you enter a den site, you must find the den on your own. Once you believe you found it, approach the entrance and a pop-up should appear. The pop-up will tell you about the den, and then you have a choice. If you like the den, choose 'Make this my Den'. If not, choose the other option. If you have further problems, please use the search feature on the forums to try to find an answer. Do not create a new topic for your problem.

I am having trouble with the second mission, Marking Territory. Can you help me?

Once you choose your den, you are required to mark your territory. Pressing the 'P' button makes your wolf urinate, thereby contributing to your yellow bar. Once you press 'P', a minimap should appear on the bottom left corner. This is your 'marking radar' (as I like to call it.) The goal is to fill up the yellow triangles on the 'marking radar' by urinating. Once the yellow triangles are solid and no longer transparent, you have completed the mission. Congratulations! If you have further problems, please use the search feature on the forums to try to find an answer. Do not create a new topic for your problem.

I am having trouble with the third mission, Training Pups. I need help!

To train your puppies, pick them up using space (or the left mouse button) and put them down (by pressing the same button) at the den entrance. You'll see that the blue meter, the Pack Affinity meter, increases. Repeat this process until the blue meter is full. Congratulations, you completed this mission!

I am having trouble with the cattle ranch (the night mission)! Where is it? How can I get to it? What do I do once I'm there?

The Cattle Ranch mission (also referred to as 'the night mission') is available after you have puppies. On your compass, you will see a fence icon. Follow that fence icon until the ranch pop up comes up. (It is on the right side of the map, just above the creek.) Once you are in the ranch, your job is to sneak in and kill the calf that is inside. Press X to jump over the fence. Once inside the enclosure, press Shift + W (or the forward arrow key) to stalk. Try not to get too close to the adult cows, or they will moo and attract the attention of the rancher (alternatively, they will chase you out if you continue to get closer to them.). Look for the calf inside the enclosure - it is smaller than the others. Go up to it and kill it. If, at any time, you hear barking in the background, quickly get away! If you fail to leave the ranch in time (through the purple cloud), you will be shot by the rancher. Good luck!

I am stuck on the Defend Den mission! Can you help me?

To complete this mission, you have to chase away predators. (Bears, coyotes, and stranger wolves.)
To chase away coyotes, just bite them until they die.
To chase away bears, bite them until they run away. For weaker wolves, you might want to have a carcass nearby so you can replenish your health.
To chase away stranger wolves, go up to them to enter the 'social arena'. Then use aggressive responses to either get the stranger wolf to submit or run away.

I can't get past the fourth mission, Grow Your Pups!

To pass this mission: you need to feed your pups (the default key is F), defend your puppies from predators and any other threats. Once your puppies reach 15 pounds (or greater), you will have completed the mission. If your puppies do not gain weight, perhaps you are not feeding them enough, you may not be on the Grow Pups mission, or it is simply a glitch.

How do I complete the final mission, Summer Rendezvous (also known as the Journey)?

The objective of this mission is to get your pack from your current den to the star on the map. To move your puppies, pick them up using space or the left mouse button. Move each one separately to the star, but be careful! There are many dangers awaiting you, including an eagle. Don't let the eagle take your puppies away! There are also water hazards (cross the water where it is shallow, see where those areas are using this map: http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/1707 ... cesmap.png) and other wolf territories you should be aware of. If you accidentally cross into another wolf territory, your mate will come running and tell you to avoid that territory. It is too dangerous for your pups. You will be teleported to a shallow part of the river.

Factual FAQ

Post by SolitaryHowl » Tue Oct 26, 2010 8:31 pm

This guide will answer many questions about facts in WolfQuest. It can be anything from the number of human 'artifacts' lying about to the amount of experience points needed to get a reward. May be updated without notice.

What are the human impact signs in Slough Creek? And where do I find them?

Read this quote;

Can the eagle harm my pups? How do you chase it away? Where do you find it? What does it look like?

Yes, it can kill your puppies. You chase it away by charging at it, and it is only available during the final mission.

What can you earn with experience points?

There are several things you can unlock with your experience points. They are as follows;
