The Sight, by David Clement-Davies

Post by Hazel » Sun Aug 05, 2007 10:24 pm

Inspired by the topic on the Warriors series :)

Who here has read "The Sight"? It's a novel about wolves, set a couple hundred years ago. I can't sum it up, because I'm terrible at summaries. So I'll just steal one off google:

"Set in the Transylvanian wilderness, David Clement-Davies' sophomore novel, The Sight, recognizes the interconnectiveness of species by showing the power struggles of the wolves' matriarchal societies. The wolves are forced to choose between two ruthless leaders. Morgra hopes to bring the legend of the man-wolf to fruition by bonding with a marked infant human. Slavka organizes the free wolves into a huge pack to challenge Morgra's hunters and intends to kill the baby and anyone who believes in the Sight. A family pack is caught in the midst of this strife as their pups, Larka and Fell, each show promise of developing the supernatural abilities foretold in the legend. "

I'm rereading it, currently. It's good ^^ Who agrees?

I loved Fire Bringer, but I haven't been able to get The Sight yet. It sounds incredible from the first few pages.

Wholy...cow! x.x Figured out today that David Clement-Davies is coming to my school! He's going to be signing books and talk to us...Cynthia Kadohata came last year, and it was great. I got to introduce her as well, including shaking hands (O.O), which was amazing. Doubt it'll happen again this year, but...

I love The Sight! It's one of my favorite books. And I could be wrong, but I think the sequel might be out already. OoO

I read Fire-Bringer too afterwards, because I liked his work and deer are among my favorite animals too. It was okay, but I liked The Sight better personally. n_n; Then again, I also love wolves more...

David Clement-Davies is coming to your school, Mooney? That's wicked! >D Where do you live?

I've read the Sight as well, it was pretty engaging. I read it when I was only about 12 years old(I'm 15 now) and I actually cried at the ending for what happened to- never mind, I won't spoil it o.o;

I found The Sight at my school library while just browsing for a book to read. I read it, and liked it.

I haven't read Fell, though I am interested. I just can't find it anywhere.

I think the sequel is called Fell...

I've got it somewhere - haven't read it yet - I'm still finishing off Clement-Davis' first novel Fire Bringer - which is very very good!
