I have this book, and read it sometimes. The only thing that really bothers me is the fact that it's so short,it could have been longer and it sounded like there may have been more when you finished it. It's pretty good though. Although didn't Runt go to the humans for help? That was kind of weird too..

Lionkill is a strong wolf.
But his leader feared him and drove him from the pack.
In hopes that he will never come back.
But Lionkill, brave and true.
Knows something he will never do.
He'll never join another pack.
For now he is a wanderer.

It was a good book, even though Thinker dies. And the end is sad... The wild is harsh sometimes. And wolves are born with blue eyes, but not that bright.

I do agree, There should be a second one about Singer/Runt's pack. Like him being a dispersal wolf and finding a mate. Mabye even Bider or the "bad wolf" follows him and torments his new pack :P

I read this book in fifth grade, and I really liked it, but now, I really don't remember anything about it.

But anywho, since I know I used to love it, I should read it again!

I remember reading this book quite some time ago. Never really caught my interest but about . . . 6 months ago I'd say, I read it again. Wasn't that bad, as it refreshed my memory, but I recommend it to anyone who's interested in wolves.

I still want to read this. I was going to borrow it from my friend, but at the time I was in the middle of three different books at once, so I didn't ^^; Plus, it looked too short for my liking.

I think Runt would be a cool Disney Movie...

the darkest part of the book has to be when Bider eats the cow carcass. I wonder if he was taking his own life, and if he was trying to kill Runt that way to get revenge on King....dum dum dum
