I got this book when it first came out, and it turned out to be a very interesting story. The porcupine part was sad, but stuff like that does happen in the wild. The also had wolf hunts (though not in detail), poison, and human hunters. Overall the ending was short, strange, but kinda sweet. If they do make a movie about it, I'd definately go see it.

Even the talking part is faily realistic dailouge wise. This is the book that started my exploration of wolf info, I love it, not only is it educational it is also insightful and full of fun and seriousness all at once.

I really did like this book.. a lot. It is a great piece of literature.. Too bad it's kinda short for me now: I'm getting into 500+ paged books.

I read this book about 3 years ago, and it's one of the few books that brought me to tears. I like the fact that its pretty realistic; this could all very well happen in a real wolf pack.

I bought this book at my book fair in 7th grade, and I absolutely loved it. It seriously did make me cry... but it is a good read. A very brief read, but still a good one^^

My paradise is in your arms...
Your kiss gives me life...
Hold on to me forever...

The wolves guide my soul...
They control my thoughts...
That she-wolf preys on my heart...
As she feeds, I can't help but smile...

That poor pup who had the run-in with the porcupine! (Was its name Thinker?) It just goes to show you how cruel the wild really is.

Yes, it was Thinker who was killed by the porcupine.

I love this book and it's sad that thinker died. But runt eventually gained a better name, singer. I liked thinker, and all thinker was doing was trying to protect his brother by warning him but, they both got hit in the end.
