New Wolf Book Out!!!!

Post by Eclipse » Sun Sep 30, 2007 6:59 pm

I just found this on my library on line take a look.

Wolf : the journey home
Bowen, 'Asta.

Summary
In this fictionalized account of real events, a female wolf named Marta, along with her young family, sets out on an epic journey to return to their home hunting grounds in Montana after they are mistakenly relocated by a group of naturalists. Told believably from Marta #8217; s point of view, the story takes the reader deep into a wolf's world, as Marta's determination to protect her pups and find their way home takes her on adventures that are by turns heart warming, perilous, and ultimately tragic.

Lol cool huh? I'm going to read this and see if it's any good. This book is for Teens so I'm not sure what it will have in it, but I'll see when I start to read it.

Lol I read the wolf brother and the other ones, it's a pretty good book. It's kinda sad that the next one won't be out for another year, I'll have to wait. :(

we should have a wolf resource and media topic here on the board!
I have it, bought it online for twenty six bucks! dumb CDN diffrences...

anyways, it was a good book and stuck true to the facts of the real Marta (protagonist) in life and her pack. The author describes the wolves with detail and their personalities as they travel togther and live out their lives. Its kinda of depressing near the end though I must warn you.

Wolves in fictional books, movies

Post by pawnee » Fri Oct 05, 2007 7:44 pm

Here are some of my favourite all time fictional books, with of course wolves in theme! Please place your own critics and what nots, and of course, info on how to get them!

Books: Wolf of Shadows by Whitney Striber (can be bought on a used book list), The Sight by David Clement Davies and its sequel, Fell (Can be bought in most bookstores), White Fang by Jack London, Runt (may need to order).

Some others that I`ve read but wasn`t too fond of was A Wolf to Remember, and The Wolves of Time (not a little kid book! deals with some mature subject matter).

Movies: Princess Mononoke (anime). This is the single best animted movie of all time. If you can find it, watch it! theres wolves, forest spirits, warriors, gods and demons. This movie grossed more money than ET did on the opening night! is rated for T for teen because of the word feather, and some violence ( limb amputation, blood, violence, etc.)

I read a lot of books that don't have good endings, I think I can handle it.

Go Mononoke!!! You're right, that is One. Good. Movie. But please don't compare it to ET, ET doesn't deserve to be in the same sentence as Princess Mononoke.

I loved Princess Mononoke it was a good Japan anima movie and I ghess the first Balto was a good movie too. Ummm wolf books, well I like The Sight, but never heard of the Fall. Ummm I'm now reading a book called Wolf's Hunt, which is the 4th in a series of wolf books, the first one was called Through Wolf's Eye's. There pretty good books, but they are adult. And thats pretty much like.

Oh, I forgot Balto. That's one of my favorites too. :D I once saw The Sight in Barnes and Noble, but it was like $20 so I couldn't get it. :( What's it about?
