Well pawnee, I should apologize too. I had no right to post things like that and if anyone was offended, I apologize to you too.

Anyways, I own the trilogy (books) and was looking though the foreward at the beginning of The Fellowship and it turns out that most of his life J.R.R. was editing the original manuscripts. Going over them again and again looking for errors he might've made. In fact, he was still doing it until the day he died. His son, Christopher is still working on it as well.

The point is, editors have hard jobs and can still have a hard time when writing. Dorothy was also probably reviewing and editing the entire time, and that could be why her story wasn't quite what you expected it to be. I'll guarantee that people have told her this and that she is working on making the second book of The Wolf Chronicles better.

good point...

I liked how it was about wolves during the ice age...I would have been happy with that, but the author, in my opinion, tried to make it more complicated than it needed to be. I dunno, Its not my favourite book, but I still read it and most likely I`ll read the next one too. I guess I had high expectations...so it made the fall all that much more painful. But then agian, as you`ve mentioned its the first book in the series/triology(?) so I can only look foward to whats to come.

my favourite wolf was Azzen...I think thats how you spelled it. He was smaller and kind of the underdog, but smarter. He seemed more of a kind hearted character

You're thinking of Azzuen. And it is a Trilogy, just like LOTR.

I'd have to say that my fav is also Azzuen. He reminds me alot of myself in that he is a leader, but no one recognizes it until it really matters.

I found he was sometimes negative, but sweet :D I hope Kaala and him stick together...

but what ever happened to Borla? the she-pup who was mourning and never came back to the densite?....

the book kind of remined me of Erin Hunter`s Warriors series, with the whole wolf spirit visitng Kaala, and in dreams

I sent a message for you, though I also had to read over it several times before I really understood. It was never really brought out into the open, just kind of hinted at, like the fact that Dum bledore from Harry Potter was gay.

(For those of you who don't agree with the Dum bledore statement, even J.K. Rowling admitted that he was gay)

I got it...but as I said I hope some characters make a comeback in the latter books...

not meaning toget off topic here, but in the last book Dumbledore has a diary thing(?) that describes one of his friends...it starts with a D I think...and I think we should use the word homosexual instead of gay as sometimes the latter implies insults.

Since it was right after the Ice Age I guess they were Dire. Haven't really thought about it that much... but yeah. The Dire wolves did die out a very long time ago.

I like that other cub that was with Kaala and Azzuen and I also like Azzuen. And I really like Kaala's closest brother who died. He reminded me of Fell from The Sight, my all time favourite character.

I think you're thinking of Reel, the one who followed Borla and Unnan around and got killed in the horse stampeede.

No. Kaala's brother who died when he was just a pup, when the Alpha killed him.

I liked him too...

Azzun is cute in my opinion, I also like the yearling female...the playful one who kind of has a softspot for Kaala.

I think the Greatwolf are dire wolves....as every wolf is scared of them because the author describes them as being big...even the leaders don`t challenge them...

I wonder how the next one will start out as? I was just thinking, this would make a cool graphic novel...

Your thinking of Ylinn... Yllin..., and her brother was Minn, the one who reminded Kaala of Unnan and doesn't liker her that much.

You have a good Idea. I may suggest that to her at her website www.dorothyhearst.com
