Re: Pack Site Creation Help

I'm using Forumotion now for a roleplay site of mine and I've got a question about something I can't seem to understand.

I see on a lot of Forumotion sites that pictures can be displayed underneath your site's name (not avatar or signature). These people use these pictures for their rank system. I was wondering, how you can add such a picture underneath your site's name? This goes as well for the rank's name they have put there in words. I just can't seem to figure out how to do it...

For those who don't really understand my question, here's a screenshot: http://i39.tinypic.com/2afn8lf.png

I think I understand what you're talking about, but it's actually a rank option.

Administration Panel > Users and Groups > Rank Administration > Click Rank of your choice > Modify > Rank Image URL (Insert URL here)

Thanks, now i'm a bit more sure what to do about it.
And now to find out how they put put different images under the username while all members are the same rank...

I should probably read a guide for Forumotion because I'm such a noob when it comes to making my own sites. ^^''

Hello! I'm using Proboards to create a pack site (which is located here --> http://cinis.boards.net/) and I need help with some coding.
I've been trying to find out how exactly to put, ah, well, I call them "side boxes" to my forum, so I can allow a place to post general information such as the chatbox, summed up plot info, etc etc. As well as a little news feature above everything that includes things such as, well, the news, staff, and quicklinks. The best way I can tell you is how Avarice has theirs set up --> http://avaricexx.proboards.com/.

I've been seeing a lot of pack sites with this layout, but I can't find out how to do it myself. Terribly sorry if I'm bothering anyone with my down right lack of knowledge of coding. ^^;

Since Proboards v5 came along, they made a sort of plugin system so you don't have to worry with the coding and such. If you go to Admin -> Plugins -> Plugin Library, you can search for a bunch of them. For the side tables, the one i'm using is called Sidebar Redux. http://www.proboards.com/library/plugin ... ebar+Redux It's really simple and easy to use after you have it plugged in to your forum.

Hope this helps~

Ah, thank you so much! That's saving me a lot of grief!
But I do have some more questions, terribly sorry!
You see, the board itself for the site is somewhat transparent, which makes it somewhat unappealing to me. I also wanted to change the main background for the forum (that surrounds the whole thing, excluding the striped one) to black so it all blends with the banner. Is that possible, or is a new theme needed? Speaking of the banner, is there anyway it can, well, blend better with the whole site?

It's no problem, I'm glad to help. c:

I'm not seeing any transparency, and the banner looks fine , so if you want to blend it in more, I guess you'll just have to directly alter you banner. As for the background go to Admin -> Themes -> Color and Theme Creator, go to the bottom where it says Forum Background, erase the link and then go back up to Banner Image and set the color. Unless you're talking about the boarder around your forum, you jut need to go to the line where you installed it and add any color code you want,

/* border around forum */
#wrapper {background-color: #D5E5B5; margin-bottom: 10px; padding: 1.3em;}

Instead of

/* border around forum */
#wrapper {background-color: @container_inner_border_color; margin-bottom: 10px; padding: 1.3em;}

Ah, thank you very much!
Haha, I changed themes earlier and forgot to edit my post, so that's my fault. ^^;

But regardless, thank you so much! c:

Sethos, I have a problem, a admin... is locking my post even once I read and accepted the terms, can u tell me why? ((I already asked them not to))
A lot of people care about animals in the world, but others do not care about them and think of them as lifeless beings. I do not mind them, as without light then there would be no dark.
But that doesn't mean if you hurt an animal I will standby and do nothing, if you think that then you are wrong
If a moderator keeps locking your posts, it probably because the post you made is not following the guidelines.

If you need any help with your own site, then feel free to ask. c:
