Within a valley, hidden well and untouched by man, lies a pack...
Under one banner, led by a single leader - a three-year-old female Grey Wolf by the name of Aurora - the pack thrived in this hidden land of endless possibilities. Despite not having a drop of one another's blood in each other, the group acted as a family, surviving against all odds, watching each other's backs. Their territory, a paradise lush with plentiful prey, water, shelter and space. And although peace reigned throughout the newly formed pack's home, they would have to keep cautious.
Because in this valley, anything was possible.

Welcome to Distant Bloods Pack!
Hello, I'm Aurora, proud founder and Dominant Female of Distant Bloods. What is Distant Bloods, you ask? What makes us so special? We are an active pack with a semi-realistic character-driven RP with a few fantasy twists to keep things interesting. Our close-knit community is clean and family-friendly, welcoming, and includes role-players and wolf lovers from around the world! We encourage unique and diverse characters, story-writing improvement, activity and fellowship, and we'll try our best to help you out with anything.
A well-organized, friendly site with easy-to-understand guides and helpful staff awaits you, with it's own dice/randomisation system that allows unpredicted situations while hunting and fighting, as well as it's own skill system to improve the role-play.
Distant Bloods Pack provides several different canid and wolf species to choose from as your character, and also allows unrealistic markings (*natural/semi-realistic pelt colours only) and eye colours so you can create a character unlike any other in the pack.
Whether you're only a beginner to role-play or an advanced 300+ word writer, you'll fit in fine - the minimum of words per role-play post is only 50 words (3-5 lines) for your convenience, and there is no limit except your imagination.
How the role-play flows is primarily decided by members and how their characters react to one another, although events and plots will spice it up from time to time. Non Playable Characters, normally of other species, will often appear to keep everything flowing smoothly and actively, and help make everything just all the more interesting.
We hold monthly and seasonal contests, competitions, challenges and events throughout the year to keep everyone entertained, the prizes normally generous and most likely something you couldn't buy in our markets, with the choice to sell or trade said prize for currency to buy something else, or just so you can brag about how many Blood Drops you have.
We also have several out-of-topic boards for discussions, sharing artwork, characters, stories and playing forum games, as well as our very own chatbox! There is a whole lot more waiting for you too, and we eagerly wait upon your joining!

Our Ranks
These are the ranks that are available for you to choose from. They will be your character's duty to fulfil should they choose one. Please note that new positions will open up once all the ranks have a decent amount in each of them, and that some of these ranks will have to be earned (such as Dominants and Vices).
Superiors : Elites
[ DOMINANTS ]
Dominants are the leaders and coordinators of the pack.
They make all the big decisions and war-plans.
Their job is basically to keep the pack safe and organised.

[ VICES ]
Vices help the Dominants and enforce law and order.
They make sure everything runs smoothly and
the even out the flaws in the Dominants' designs.

Subordinates : Providers
[ HUNTERS ]
Hunters hunt big prey and small land mammals including rodents.
Most wolves that are hunters have great stamina and speed
and must be quick thinkers and good strategists to feed the pack.

[ FISHERS ]
Fishers collect fish, amphibians and other water-dwelling creatures.
Some can even go underwater to find a wider range of prey and edible goods.
Fishers tend to be good swimmers with thick pelts and good reflexes.

[ GATHERERS ]
Gatherers gather herbs for Shamans as well as edible plants, carcasses,
honey, and the more advanced being able to kill birds and collect their eggs.
Elders and weak or injured wolves tend to go into this rank.

Subordinates : Protectors
[ WARRIORS ]
Warriors fight as troops in a unit, attack predators or invaders as well
as help the Guards with their duties and bulk up the patrols.
Warriors must be strong, skilled fighters with good endurance for long wars.

[ GUARDS ]
Guards patrol, guard dens and important individuals, including prisoners,
pups and Elites. They must be large and strong to intimidate rivals
and have good senses to find trouble easily without having to be told where it is.

[ SPIES ]
Spies are the scouts and messengers of the pack, bringing information
from the territory to the pack. Individuals of this rank must be stealthy,
smart, quick on their toes and fast thinking to survive.

Subordinates : Carers
[ SHAMANS ]
Shamans are healers and medics, skilled with dealing with the
sick and injured. Handicapped and older wolves often are
Shamans as little physical labour is required.

[ MENTORS ]
Mentors are "therapists" of sorts, their duty is to keep the peace.
They are also teachers of sorts, or a chaplain to newcomers.
They must be welcoming, friendly wolves with a lot of patience.

[ NANNIES ]
Nannies are the caretakers or nurses of sorts. They care for pups
and elders alike, normally teaching pups the basics of pack life.
Nannies must be patient and loving to work in this field.

Subordinates : Youngsters
[ YEARLINGS ]
Yearlings are the young wolves of the pack below the age
of two years, normally the juvenile offspring of members
although young wanderers find their way to our territory occasionally.

[ PUPS ]
Pups are normally the offspring of members
or sometimes lost orphans the pack has taken in out of kindness.
Pups must be below the age of one year, orphans must be above ten weeks.

Minors : Newcomers
[ NEWCOMERS ]
Newcomers are placed into this rank until
they have officially joined the pack and have met
the Dominants.

Joining Us
Have I tempted you by any chance? No? Ah well, if you do actually want to join us there's a few things you should know. First off; do not even apply to join if you are unsure that you will be able to post or will have to go on EFA as soon as you join. Although we are a fairly relaxed pack, you will still be required to post in the RP every fortnight (two weeks), preferably every day or so. If are absent for 3 months without an EFA, you will be moved to Visitor status (*exceptions may be made, such as during exam season). You must register on the site within a week of application. Once registered and activated you will receive a welcoming message with instructions to go on from there.
You may easily make your own character, join with another member as their sibling/pup/etc, or even adopt a character . It is suggested you look in the Adoptable Characters board of our forum before making your own, especially if you want to be a pup; there may be parents looking for pup role-players.
That aside, it is also strongly recommended you look at some of our rules and guides to make sure you understand them properly and know how we run things. If you have any questions, don't be shy to message me or ask in our Q&A board.
