Wolf teeth

Post by SolitaryHowl » Sun Sep 28, 2008 6:29 pm

Sorry if there is a topic already on this (I didn't see any) but:

I've got a bunch of questions about wolf's teeth. First of all, does a wolf ever lose any teeth and if they do...do the teeth grow back?
Secondly, can wolves ever get cavities or mouth infections because they can't really clean their teeth, or do they have some other way of cleaning them? (Do wolves even need to clean their teeth?)
Thirdly, how many teeth does a wolf have?
And this is the last question...do wolves have different types of teeth for different things? (like ripping, and chewing)

Thanks.

yes, wolves can lose teeth. I dont think they grow back.

also, I think they clean their teeth by chewing on the bones of the nimals they kill, sticks, etc.
