A Few Inquiries

Post by Thandi » Fri Dec 23, 2011 11:18 am

Hiya. I had a good idea for a short story a few days ago to post in the User Writings section, but I need to know a few things before I start;

-Is there an age limit for females to stop having pups?
-If a female dominant wolf dies, who is she replaced with, if she is replaced?

All information is appreciated!
everything out of the ordinary is considered weird, i try to stay clear of the eathlings and their fears

1. There has not been any evidence that a female wolf will be unable to breed at any time before her death; some as old as 11 years (in captivity) have been able to produce a litter of pups. So no, there is not an age at which a female is unable to have pups.

If the breeding pair is lost, the remaining members may disperse and become part of the "floating" population, unless they are pups which would die from starvation or from predators.
Generally, the remaining wolf will wait for another dispersal, as inbreeding is rather uncommon.
