I've read that super packs (packs of 20 or so wolves) are a thing in the wild, and that the term "alpha" can really only be associated with super packs, and that's possible because there are unrelated breedable males and females in the packs. And only the most dominant male will breed with the most dominant female.
I know that it's not a common thing for strange wolves to join a wolf pack, so that makes me wonder how a super pack is formed? The only thing I can think of is that an unrelated male breeds with one of the female off-spring of a normal pack. But then there's still an issue for inbreeding on the female's side of the blood-line. So.
How is a super pack formed?
Been all over google, can't find an answer for this.

Re: Super packs
If you have a question, make sure you thoroughly search this forum, as well. There are some pretty good answers on this thread, so I won't repeat anything that can be found there.
