Conflict over wolf management plans in California

After more than three years of meetings, reviews and rewrites, California wildlife officials this week released a draft plan on how to fit gray wolves back into the country’s most populous state.

Wildlife officials drew up the plan in response to wolves from Oregon migrating to California. In December 2011, OR-7 crossed from Oregon into Siskiyou County, marking the first time a wolf has lived in the state since 1924.
