Alright,so if it was a male lion against a hyena one-on-one, Lion would have 93% chance of winning depending on genders, etc. If it where a Hyena Clan and A Lion Pride I think the Hyenas would have 55% chance and the Lions would have 55% chance of winning because it all depends on details.
A pride is lead by a male surrounded by his females who he may have as many mates as he wants. Lionesses are less than male lions- around 156 pounds. And there is one male so its a bit unlikely for the lion pride to win if they were to fight with Hyenas, sorry in my opinion.

In my opinion if The hyena was alone with a lot of lions it would probably not stand a chance, hyenas do live in large packs/groups. So if it was a really big group of hyenas and few lions I would say 50 50.

I've heard that spotted hyena clans can get to numbers of up to 80 members(http://www.hyaenidae.org/the-hyaenidae/ ... ocuta.html)
so if we combine that with their incredible jaw pressure and intelligence, a large hyena clan against a small pride of lions may win, or probably loose...Who knows, I think it depends if the lions fight or defense themselves...

Considering the lion has claws, he'd probably win :(

I would say Lion. I BELIEVE ONLY HYENAS WIN BY PACKS BUT IF IT WAS SOLITARY IT WOULD LOSE TO ONE LION!

If your talking about jaw pressure psi (per square inch), the hyena wins hands down. They have the strongest jaws in the animal kingdom.
If you mean one-on-one fight, it really depends on the lion and hyena fighting. Normally, a hyena would be with its pack, and wouldn't dare go near a lion by itself. If it were with its pack, then it could easily take down a pride. Lions aren't as strong as everyone thinks they are. I have seen an encounter between a lion and hyena pack take place in the Kruger National Park, South Africa. The hyena's almost broke the lions leg, it was horrifying to watch but in the end, the lion ran off and the hyena's got the kill. Take it from someone who's seen it happen.

Well, I have seen pictures and videos of hyenas taking down wildebeest and baby giraffes, whom are clearly not small hoofed animals lol (hyenidae.org)
Hyenas for the win, as I said before.

Lion. That's what I think, but maybe there's a strange kind of shape hidden in a hyenas body...

If it was one-on-one combat, then a male lion would win. I have seen proof of male lions going one on two with hyena's, and they defeated them all. But, hyena's aren't afraid of female lions, and I have yet to see proof of a lioness one-on-one with a hyena.

Lions are big with large claws, hyenas are about mid sized and with a powerful jaw, like the other members have said the lion would win hands down against like 1 or 2 hyenas. But, the hyenas could win if there was a whole pack of them.

Well, it all depends on the situation. If the hyena gets its jaws around a lions leg, it's toast. If the lion gets a good smack at the hyena, the hyena's toast. It really depends on the lion, the hyena, the battle ground, and the situation.
