I think most of you know this already, but if a worm is cut in half, the two halves will become individual worms and continue living after they've healed.

If you cut an arm off a starfish it will grow back.

The Platypus (unlike the beaver) has to close its eyes underwater, as well as its nostrils. However, Platypus's feed off of shrimp at the bottom. And so, how on earth do they locate their prey without sight or smell? Well actually the Platypus is very sensitive to vibrations. It can locate its food from vibrations much like a bat uses echolocation.

A newborn kangaroo's size is as small as that of a coffee bean.

Capybaras are the largest rodents in the world, though I think most of us know that. They resemble a pig in some ways, being close to the same size and I sort of thing they look a bit like wild boars too. Just a bit though XP

Attack of the sea mammal facts! >:3

Orcas are the largest species of dolphin • Seals share the same ancestors as jackals • Humpback whales are the only nonhumans to make it into the music charts • The Bajii dolphin is the second most endangered animal alive • Sometimes male narwhals grow two tusks, and sometimes a female might grow one • Spermwhales will only eat squid • Seal milk both looks and tastes like mayonnaise • Manatees usually have algea growing on them • Humpback whales carry 990 pounds of barnacles on their bodies • Dolphins and humans are the only animals in the world that breed for pleasure.

-During mating season a male penguin will set about finding a stone he will offer to the female. If she likes the stone the two will become mates. It's like a proposal, only instead based off the guy itself, the sole impression is his choosing of the stone. Kinda sad really, as for penguins, possessions buy relationships XP

-Male seahorses have a pouch in which the eggs hatch. The female produces the eggs and slips them into the male seahorses pouch where the male fertilizes them until they hatch. In this way humans often refer to it that the male is actually the one who is "pregnant" although that is obviously not quite the case.

-Crabs (or a special kind of crab I forgot the name of) dress themselves up with sand, coral, and underwater plants and seaweed to blend into their environment.

-The Rainbow Chameleon is one of the newest species found in Madagascar and appears to be wearing makeup.

-Male penguins keep the egg between their feet and practically starve themselves all winter long by huddling together in the Arctic's worst blizzards while waiting for the Spring. The females leave the males with their eggs and go to feed, returning in the Spring when the chicks have hatched where they regurgitate the food to the chicks. Finally, the males get to go and feed themselves at last.

-The wolves favourite part of the fish is the brain

-The bears favourite part of the fish is the egg sac

-Beavers have waterproof fur so they are actually dry and warm on the inside. Their fur actually has a special oil that coats the fur and keeps the water out.

-A birds feathers are water resistant

-A Sea dragon looks much like a Sea horse but is a different species entirely. They often seem to have seaweed growing off their body parts, a good way to camouflage into their environment

-Pigs are the smartest animal alive. (Unless you include that humans are animals but I don't)

-Pearls are created from tiny grains of sand that have gotten caught in an oyster's mouth. Since the oyster can't actually get rid of the sand and it irritates them, they start coating it in the substance they produce as a way for the grain of sand to be more comfortable. Depending on the oyster it can take anywhere from a few months to many years to form a pearl depending on the size of the oyster. THere are also different types of oysters, etc. Because as the years pass the grain of sand is coated in many many layers. And depending on the size wanted (at least for pearl harvesting) the harvesters can choose what size.

• Even if presented food, some mice will turn into a cannibal.

• The famous dinosaur Triceratops was proven to be a juvenile Torosaurus. And many people's childhood must have died when scientists revealed that...

• Polar bears are left handed. Or would you say pawed?

• Humans and Asian elephants are the only animals capable of standing on their heads. How and why did we find this out?

• Koalas are actually very good swimmers. Again, how and why did we find this out?

• Cats domesticated themselves. They probably saw all the rodents around human camps, so they hunted there. Then we made them a common compainion.

• Mice go longer without water than camels.

• Bulls don't charge at red things only ─ they are colourblind. Bulls will actually charge at anything waving in front of them.

• For every human, there are about 50 beetles.

• C.ockroaches can survive for 15 minutes under water.

A lion can mate up to 50 times a day.

Camel milk doesn't ferment into curds.

An eel can produce a shock of up to 650 volts.

Butterflies use their feet to taste.

The blue whale is the loudest animal on earth.

Sloths travel an average of 15 feet a day.

Bird Facts

• A coin is heavier than a hummingbird.

• Dinosaurs never died out ─ birds are dinosaurs.

• A chicken can only fly for 13 seconds.

• Albatrosses have a wingspan of 14 ft and they only need to land once every couple of years to breed.

• Penguins can jump as high as 6 ft.

• Kiwis are blind and hunt by smell.

• The Artic tern flies from the North Pole to the South Pole and then back again to spend summer in each place.

• Vultures sometimes eat so much, they can't take off again.

• An ostrich's eye is larger than it's brain.

• A duck's quack does not echo.

• If you feed a seagull Alka-Seltzer, its stomach will explode.

• Hummingbirds can't walk.

Snakes use their tongue to smell

If you deprive a house fly of sleep (or any animal probably) they will not even want to mate. THey'll sit there and stare off into space and be unresponsive.

And please remember to make sure they are facts, not religion. Things we do not know for sure we shouldn't say.

• Sharks can fight most diseases.

• Elephants can't jump.

• Polar bear fur is actually transparent, not white.
