The opossum doesn't actually play dead, it faints in shock.

Dachshunds are so long due to dwarfism. They really should have longer legs, but genetic mutations and 'defects' have reduced the leg size. Not so long a dog, huh?

When the Glass Lizard gets scared, it's tail shatters into peices, and sometimes it gives birth to live young, and sometimes eggs.

I didn't know a lot of this stuff. Here's something for dog lovers:
1. If you continue to give it food, the pug will keep eating until it literally eats itself to death.
2. Along with chocolate, raisins are toxic to dogs.

Contrary to popular belief, domestic cats are actually very social group animals.

The Lammergeier, a species of vulture native to Europe and Asia, is often mistaken for an eagle. Because of this, in ancient European legends, it is believed that eagles featured in such legends are actually Lammergeiers.

The saber toothed cat was actually most closely related to lynxes and bobcats.

Jaguars are the only cats that make a fatal bite to the skull instead of the neck. Their powerful jaws easily crush the bone.

Contrary to popular belief, when animals such as felines and canines hunt, their is very little blood, and minimal damage to the prey. This is because the teeth of these animals are designed to crush, not slash.

The brown stinkbugs (I don't think this is actually what they're called) found in North America that get all over the place are an invasive species native to Asia. They are a huge problem in North America because they have no natural predators, thus their numbers explode. So, if you live in North America, KILL EVERY SINGLE ONE YOU SEE.

Honeybees have three different groups. A single Queen, thousands of workers, and several drones. The queen does not have a barbed stinger, so she can sting multiple times. Workers have barbed stingers, so they only sting once as a last resort. After stinging, they die. Drones do not have stingers.

Honey is bee vomit. It contains much bacteria. This is why it is unsafe to feed to infants.

Lots of facts. I'll add more too it.

The honey badger is one of the toughest animals alive. It's not afraid of ANYTHING! It can shove its way into a hive of angry bees and not get a sting, eat a deadly rattle snake that's bitten it a couple times. It even like..kinda died after the poison caught hold of it but not completely...after an hour it got up again and walked away as if it had never been poisoned O_O
