Strange facts I found, not sure if they are all true or not, but the last one is definately hilarious.

A c.ockroach can live several weeks with its head cut off - it dies from starvation!
A crocodile always grows new teeth to replace the old teeth!
A crocodile cannot stick its tongue out.
A group of geese on the ground is a gaggle, a group of geese in the air is a skein!
A hedgehog's heart beats 300 times a minute on average!
A hippo can open its mouth wide enough to fit a 4 foot tall child inside!
A hummingbird weighs less than a penny!
A mole can dig a tunnel 300 feet long in just one night!
A snail can sleep for three years.
After eating, a housefly regurgitates its food and then eats it again!
All polar bears are left handed.
An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain.
Bulls are colour blind, therefore will usually charge at a matador's waving cape no matter what color it is -- be it red or neon yellow!
Butterflies taste with their feet.
Camels have three eyelids to protect themselves from blowing sand!
Cat urine glows under a black-light!
Cats have over one hundred vocal sounds, but dogs only have about ten.
Dogs and cats, like humans, are either right or left handed... or is that paws?!
Elephants are the only animals that can't jump.
Most lipstick contains fish scales!
Nose prints are used to identify dogs, just like humans use fingerprints!
On average, people fear spiders more than they do death.
Over 10,000 birds a year die from smashing into windows!
Porcupines float in water!
The ant always falls over on its right side when intoxicated.
The longest recorded flight of a chicken is 13 seconds!
The original name for the butterfly was 'flutterby'!
The placement of a donkey's eyes in its head enables it to see all four feet at all times! !
The poison-arrow frog has enough poison to kill about 2,200 people!
The sloth (a mammal) moves so slowly that green algae can grow undisturbed on its fur!
The two-foot long bird called a Kea that lives in New Zealand likes to eat the strips of rubber around car windows!
The world's termites outweigh the world's humans 10 to 1!
You are more likely to be killed by a Champagne cork than by a poisonous spider.

I learned these facts from animal planet.

1. Cheetahs are the only big cats that can purr.

2. Cats will purr when there happy or in pain (but not very often).

Lagomorphs, including domestic rabbits, must eat a certain type of dropping they produce called cecotropes. It isn't considered feces, however, because it is very essential for a rabbit to continually ingest and without it, they would suffer from malnutrition. They ingest these everyday, so if you ever see your pet rabbit chewing on an unknown substance, cecotropes should come to mind now.

A guinea pig did not originate in New Guinea, and it is not a type of pig.
A peregrine falcon is known to dive at up to 250 miles per hour after its airborne prey. This makes them the fastest known animal alive today.

kopi luwak the worlds most expensive coffee ($50 in the USA) is made by animal poo.

Its coffee bean is so hard to open that humans can not open it. Instead they let a small mammal called a civet eat it and poo it. Then they harvest the bean from the poo and turn it into coffee.

The first fact about c ockroaches could be true for most other animals. If it still has its brain stem it can live ;) Just if it isn't cared for by another it would then die. I dunno where or how I know this but muskox females can only have offspring every other year.

^ Mike the Headless Chicken is a great example of that. He lived a long time without his head- the brainstem is all he really needed as it's the most primitive part of the brain that regulates basic life functions.

Let's see what I can pull from my head... let's do some owl facts. ;D
- All owl eggs, regardless of species, are white/off-white in color.
- Barn Owls are the most widespread species of owl in the world, found on every continent except Antarctica.
- It's believed that Burrowing Owls line their nests with dung to attract insects to feed on or to possibly tell other owls that the burrow is already taken.
- Owls have high amounts of rod cells in their eyes to aid in night vision.
- In most owls, their ears are asymmetrical- one is higher than the other to give a larger range of sound.

Ha, nice. I thought you might do that eventually.

•Chows are the only breed of dog that don't have a pink tongue

•A group of geese on the ground is called a gaggle, in the air they're called a skein

•The honey badger can withstand great amounts of pain and injury without dying. Even a venemous snake bite.

Some Dog facts...

A one-year-old dog is physically as mature as a 15 year-old human.

The average dog's mouth exerts 150 to 200 pounds of pressure per square inch. Some dogs can apply up to 450 pounds.

Dogs' internal clocks are really magnificent. They know when it's time for you to arrive home, feed them, or go to bed if you are normally on a schedule.

Dogs become loyal not because you feed them, but because of the companionship you give them.
