The sperm whale's longest tooth is about the length of your arm.

The orca is actually a species of dolphin.

When cornered, possums can become aggressive and attack what is cornering them.

A dog's peripheral vision is better than their vision in front of them.

A peacock has about 200 tail feathers in it's plumage.

Elephants live in groups lead by a dominant male or female called the matriarch.

The banana slug is a big yellow slug that produces a toxin slime. When an animal eats a banana snail, such as a frog in which swallows the snail whole, the slime glues its lips together so that it can no longer open its mouth. THat animal will usually die.

The leopard gecko's tail begins to wave in circles rapidly when it is about to grab prey in it's mouth.

The anaconda is an invasive species in Florida. It go there by people. They would get them as babies for pets, but when they got too big they would go out in the Everglades and dump them. An anaconda could eat a young alligator.

Some species of moths like to feed on humans eye balls (no joke) But this is obviously rare because they come out at night and by then the humans have their eyes closed. I just read a report on it once. So its super uncommon that way.

Dolphins can actually ward off sharks by spinning in circles so tightly that the shark can't break through their sphere. A human family was swimming in the ocean when one girl accidently cut her leg on the rock while swimming. They contineud to swim, trying to make it to the other side of the bay. Instantly a bunch of dolphins swarmed around the family. The family thought the dolphins were attacking them but what they didn't know was that a great whtie shark was trying to attack them and the dolphins were actually saving their life. Quite an incredible story actually.

Hippo's sweat is red. It looks like blood... but its not

EDIT:
Seewah wrote:Contrary to popular belief, domestic cats are actually very social group animals.

The Lammergeier, a species of vulture native to Europe and Asia, is often mistaken for an eagle. Because of this, in ancient European legends, it is believed that eagles featured in such legends are actually Lammergeiers.

The saber toothed cat was actually most closely related to lynxes and bobcats.

Jaguars are the only cats that make a fatal bite to the skull instead of the neck. Their powerful jaws easily crush the bone.

Contrary to popular belief, when animals such as felines and canines hunt, their is very little blood, and minimal damage to the prey. This is because the teeth of these animals are designed to crush, not slash.

The brown stinkbugs (I don't think this is actually what they're called) found in North America that get all over the place are an invasive species native to Asia. They are a huge problem in North America because they have no natural predators, thus their numbers explode. So, if you live in North America, KILL EVERY SINGLE ONE YOU SEE.

Honeybees have three different groups. A single Queen, thousands of workers, and several drones. The queen does not have a barbed stinger, so she can sting multiple times. Workers have barbed stingers, so they only sting once as a last resort. After stinging, they die. Drones do not have stingers.

Honey is bee vomit. It contains much bacteria. This is why it is unsafe to feed to infants.

Lots of facts. I'll add more too it.
Im never going to drink honey tea again now... BUT HOW IS IT SO SWEET D: MUST EAT HONEY BUNS.... NO MUST NOT.... dorry your post just suprises me at the end :D

Happy to help. Learning, yay!!!!

The groundhog can actually determine if there will be more winter or not- sort of. They are hibernating marmots, so they only come out in spring. One groundhog will poke its head out of the burrow and gage the temperature. If it is too cold, it will go back to sleep. This way they know to come out only in the spring. The way that we think they predict the weather is incorrect, a myth. It is more for publicity.

Heh... it's so sweet because it's nectar. It's basically just sugar. So you can drink your honey tea. I'll keep drinking mine. :P

The humps on a camel's back contain fat, not water.

A liger has a lion father and a tiger mother, a tigon has a tiger father and a lion mother.

Sweetpea RAWR wrote: Then most jelly fish have no brains. And that doesn't prove they have eyes. They could sense the hand there by detecting water temperatures or something like that. We're getting off topic.

The only mammal that lays eggs is the platypus.
(please dont take me to sound rude.) but, thats untrue. the platypus is not the only mammal to lay eggs. the echidna (or spiny anteater) is also a mammal that lays eggs. and egg laying mammals are called monotremes, and the platypus and echidna are the only living monotremes.

So heres a real fact instead:

Animals won't eat an animal that has been struck by lightning.

Lions are the only big cats with a tuft at the end of their tail.
