Credit cards are typically accepted by the distributors (Steam, GOG, Desura, Amazon, iTunes(?) and Google Play) the team will be looking into. The same is likely true for PayPal. So yes, payment by credit card will be acceptable ^^

What exactly will come with the free version other than Amythist mountain?

If you did download the new version would 2.5 still be there to play?

It appears that the seven new howls, the original coat colors, and the Amethyst Mountain map will be free.

Everything else listed on the first post of this thread you will need to purchase as designated.

Yes, you will still be able to play 2.5.; the current version of the game will remain avaliable.

Thank you for that information.

So would 2.7 come up as a different game as 2.5 seen as I have 2.5 downloaded and can download 2.7 but not necessarily purchase anything, meaning will I still be able to play 2.5 with 2.7 downloaded as well?

It depends on the distributor.

For example, with Steam, files are installed by default to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common; a standalone installer such as the one you download from this website would likely install to C:\Program Files (x86)\WolfQuest. Note that my computer is a x64 bit machine; Program Files (x86) would just be Program Files on a x32 bit machine. I believe a standalone installer is what you'll get through Amazon, Desura and GOG.

Unless they change it, your existing game files will be overwritten by the new data unless purchased through Steam, provided it is a possibility. There's a way to keep older versions without having to uninstall the current version and reinstall an older version, though I don't know if I'd be allowed to share it.

We'll make sure that 2.7 doesn't automatically overwrite/replace 2.5.

Okay, thank you everyone for that. I'm debating what packages to get... I may ask for like Christmas to purchase this....

Will you be able to still download 2.5 for free or will it be replaced with 2.7 even though it costs money?

Glad the new version will not overwrite the current installation! ^^

@duskypack: Unlike previous updates, 2.5 is not going anywhere. It will remain available to download for free from the WolfQuest website. However, it will not receive any future updates, and lexicon chat mode will be shut off at some point in the near future before or after 2.7 goes live.

I'm looking forward to version 2.7! When it will be ready, in an estimated date?

This is what Dave said on the first of July-
loboLoco wrote:Here's an update on release schedule: We have been making good progress on our task list. We're now mainly in testing/bugfixing mode, though we also have a couple last new things to build (user accounts, in-app purchasing shop). A July release isn't gonna happen, but I'm quite optimistic about August...though it may be late August. That may seem like a long ways away still, but given that we've been working on this for 18 months, we really are getting close!
I believe this goes for both the tablet and PC version, with the only difference being that the PC version will get improved graphics at a later point in time after release.
