Yeah, I confess I wasn't thinking of the cynical Steam audience when I made the video. In fact, I was trying to make the opposite of a typical game trailer. Oh well.

But so far, and having expected some harsh responses, I'm pretty happy with the voting. But I have no idea what the necessary threshold for acceptance is.

I looked at the FAQ for Greenlight and it said something along the lines of an exact determining number quantity being nonexistant. Other games I was comparing had around sixty comments and were already Greenlit. Granted, I'm completely new to Steam.

I've read a bit more now, and apparently only Yes votes are counted. Obviously, the higher percentage of Yes votes, the faster your votes add up, but Valve isn't looking at the ratio. From what I can glean, we're doing pretty well on the Yes/No percentage, especially for a niche game. (I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share that info, at least not until the whole thing is over, one way or another.)

No matter what you do, the cynical Steam audience is going to find something to pick on. It's unavoidable, sadly, since it's such a large audience and has a fair selection of free games. That's usually not a great combination if someone is looking for a nice community. Overall the comments seem to be pretty positive, though.

We cracked the top 100 a few hours ago and now are #82. Woohoo!

I think we need to get into the top 50 (and stay there awhile) before Valve will consider us, but breaking into the top 100 (out of over 1900 games currently in Greenlight) is fantastic In its own right. Thanks for all your votes, and keep spreading the word!

Awesome! Hope you reach the Top 50!

Then WQ will get much needed exposure/attention!

Wow #57 already!? Let's hope WQ makes it onto Steam. More exposure/sales that way.

Maybe you want to make a separate alternate trailer just for Steam? And, I'm assuming you'll link up the in-game achievements to the Steam Achievements? People go crazy for Steam Achievements.

if we are Greenlit, I think that would be prudent.

I think that would be prudent as well.

Perhaps you can have a trailer-making contest for the community? As far as I know you can have multiple trailers on Steam, so you could have the official, the fan-made and the first 2.7 trailer.

That's excellent! And I imagine it bodes well for us in the Greenlight process, too. :)

Congrats on almost top 50! I know you can do it!
Also, a trailer contest would be cool.
