Summertime Snack

Post by loboLoco » Fri Jun 16, 2017 10:01 am

For ten years, wolves in WolfQuest have had it pretty hard: the only elk and moose to be found are full-grown adults, and even the weaker cows take a lot of work to bring down. In the real world, of course, wolves often seek out juveniles, who lack the skill and power to put up a good defense.

That’ll change soon when we add juvenile prey to the game — later this year to the main game, and also to the Tower Fall expansion in early 2018.

Intrepid wolves will look for mule deer fawns like this little fellow, hoping to nab one while its mother is distracted. And by the time your pups are five months old, fawns will be tempting targets for hunting practice. But beware — a protective doe can put up quite a fight. Like all parents, you’ll wish you could shield your pups from those flying hooves. But it’s all part of growing up!

This is an exciting surprise! I hope this will change the gameplay meta in Slough Creek a bit, especially on the higher difficulty levels. The model looks fantastic, too. I'll be looking forward to seeing them in the game, and also to hunting with the (older) puppies!

Wow that model looks amazing! I'm so excited to have these little snacks. The progress on the game looks like it's coming along beautifully! Also, am I imagining things or did I see some sort of animated change in the skybox at the very beginning of the video?

Oh my goodness! It's so adorable and beautifully animated!

I almost feel bad for wanting to hunt it down and feed it to my pups. I could cuddle it all day!

Hehe, I'm pleased to eat you, little fawn. :3
(Get it? Like pleased to meet you?)

Anyways, the fawn looks beautiful and it'll add a realistic touch to the game.

This is so awesome!! I can't wait!
My biggest question is will the fawns be varying sizes or ages? Will they grow slowly as time passes to make it harder to kill them?
Also I know this is a bit of a far fetched idea but what of the adult elk and mule deer started limping and slowed down their running if you kept attacking and biting a specific leg? You know, strategy?
I love WolfQuest! I'm so excited I've been telling all my friends to buy the game on mobile and play with me and several have and they enjoy it as well.
This game is great and the future updates look so great I can hardly wait to try them!
